The A38/P38 design team was given a simple goal; to develop the best performing stereo<br />
ampli<strong>fi</strong>ers <strong>Arcam</strong> has ever produced.<br />
An extensive in-house research project yielded a wealth of information concerning the<br />
influences of thermal conditions on power ampli<strong>fi</strong>er performance.<br />
As a result the A38 & P38 feature a number of new technologies which practically eliminate<br />
thermal modulation of audio signals and ensure a truly stunning sound.<br />

New components and new designs<br />
New Sanken output devices and dramatically improve thermal coupling to provide an<br />
extremely stable device temperature resulting in much improved linearity. The massive toroid<br />
based power supplies delivers effortless power with a new low noise topology improving<br />
transient response.<br />
The ultra-wide band design offers ext<strong>end</strong>ed frequency response that is perfect for the<br />
demanding requirements of <strong>high</strong> resolution formats such as SACD and the 24-bit audio <strong>fi</strong>les,<br />
increasingly available for download, all of which can deliver much wider frequency and<br />
dynamic <strong>range</strong>s.<br />

A new pre-ampli<strong>fi</strong>er<br />
The design of the A38, features hermetically sealed reed relays from <strong>Arcam</strong>’s <strong>range</strong> topping<br />
C31 preampli<strong>fi</strong>er and delivers a transparent signal to each power ampli<strong>fi</strong>er. Reed relays offer<br />
extremely low contact resistance and virtually in<strong>fi</strong>nite life span. A new volume control gives<br />
unprecedented linearity and noise performance allowing <strong>fi</strong>ne details to be reproduced in<br />
startling clarity.<br />
An awful lot of power<br />
Often overlooked, the humble power ampli<strong>fi</strong>er has an enormous job to do within a modern hi<strong>fi</strong><br />
or AV system. The new P38 is the perfect match for the A38 in bi-ampli<strong>fi</strong>ed systems, the<br />
C31 pre-ampli<strong>fi</strong>er in a pre/power combination or stacked in multiples with the AV9 Home<br />
Cinema pre-amp.<br />
The A38 replaces the A32 in the <strong>FMJ</strong> <strong>range</strong><br />
The P38 replaces the P35 in the <strong>FMJ</strong> <strong>range</strong><br />
Both models available in black or silver <strong>fi</strong>nish.<br />
