SALIENT ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Organized 200 off and on-campus training Programmes in which
about five thousand farmers were trained in the area of vegetable
production.
• Taught 29 UG and PG courses in the subject of Vegetable Science.
• Guided four M.Sc. students and nominated as member in the advisory
committee of ten M/Sc./Ph.D students.
• Released one promising variety of Garlic “GHC-1” and collaborated in
the release and identification of several varieties particularly
Tomato(Palam Pink,Palam Pride) and Brinjal (Arka Keshav.,Arka
Nidhi).
• Gave five recommendations regarding standardization of agrotechniques
in major off-season vegetables of HP. Standardized and
replicated Polyhouse Technology under participatory research mode for
raising healthy nursery for early summer and autumn planting. More
than 15 protected structures have been adopted with full technical
support resulting annual production of more than 50 lac seedlings of
different vegetables.
• Conducted more than 1200 demonstrations, on farm trials and
adaptive research trials on farmers’ fields.
• Rendered consultancy service to more than 3000 visiting farmers.
• Delivered 20 Radio talks at All India Radio Shimla/ Dharamshala.
• Acted as core team member of Pilot Project on technology assessment
and refinement through institution village linkage programme,
implemented at CSKHPKV, Centre w.e.f. January 1996 to 31.3.2001.
• Participated in two National Trainings and two summer Institutes on
vegetable production.

• Received FAO fellowship under CAR/FAO programme for three
months advanced training on Molecular Identification of S-
Alleles in Brassica Oleracea at Horticultural Research
International, Wellesbourne, U.K. w.e.f. 8.10.1995 to 2.1.1996.
• Heading newly established KVK at Kangra w.e.f. January, 2001 and
achieved several land marks in the area of skill development through
multidisciplinary trainings, on farm research and farmer’s advisory
service in Kangra District.
• Actively involved in the implementation of World Bank aided NATP
(ATMA) Project by way of executing general field Programmes for the
overall socio economic upliftment of farming community of the District.
• Published 90 research/extension articles /Books in the field of
vegetable science.
