STAC Meeting Moving in September
The State Trauma Advisory Council will meet at the TIES
Conference Center in Falcon Heights beginning in September
2013. The conference center, located at 1640 Larpenteur
Avenue, is just west of Snelling Avenue and north of the State
Fairgrounds.
The STAC’s meeting on September 24 is atypical in that it will
be four hours long (from 12:00-4:00 p.m.) instead of the customary
three hours. Reports and updates will be deferred, so
the floor can be opened to stakeholders and other interested parties who wish to testify about the
recommendations made by the Level 3 Surgeon Work Group.
Stakeholders Encouraged to Testify at
September STAC Meeting
The agenda of the September STAC meeting
has been modified to provide an opportunity for
stakeholders and other interested parties to
address the recommendations made by the Level
3 Surgeon Work Group in their final report to
the STAC.
Pre-register to testify online or sign up before
12:00 p.m. at the STAC meeting on September
24. Registrants will be called in the order in
which they sign up. If time permits, the floor
will then be opened to those who wish to make
additional comments. When preparing your
comments, please keep these principles in mind:
• Make every effort to understand the problems
that the proposal aims to resolve. Consider
offering constructive counter proposals and support
your position. Cite research if available.
• Focus on how the proposed change is likely
to affect patient care and/or the trauma system.
• Be respectful. All who have a stake in this process
deserve to be heard.
• Be concise and limit your comments to the individual
recommendations you are responding to.
• Plan to keep your comments to 3-5 minutes in
length.
Contact the trauma system coordinator at chris.
a need for additional time.
