HERITAGE WEEK
This annual celebration began in 2006, on the 40th anniversary of DeSales University, to honor the educational
legacy of ST. FRANCIS DE SALES as it has been carried on in the tradition of Salesian Christian Humanism. The
celebrations take place in the evenings, Sunday through Thursday, during the week in which the feast day of St.
Francis de Sales (January 24th) falls in the calendar.
The R. Wayne Kraft Memorial Lectures on Christian Humanism
Begun in 1995, this lecture series highlights the university's celebration of the feast of ST. FRANCIS
DE SALES (1567-1622), Bishop and Doctor of the Church, whose wealth of theological writings attests
to the tradition of Christian Humanism that is at the heart of the university's mission and
philosophy.
