RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE<br />
1. TERMS OF REFERENCE<br />
1.1 To make recommendations on the direction <strong>and</strong> focus <strong>of</strong> R & D activities<br />
within the Trust, <strong>and</strong> considering external research partnerships with<br />
HYMS <strong>and</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Hull.<br />
1.2 To make recommendations on the configuration <strong>and</strong> utilisation <strong>of</strong><br />
research <strong>and</strong> development (R & D) facilities in the Trust, in the light <strong>of</strong> the<br />
overall R & D strategy<br />
1.3 To make recommendations on the development <strong>of</strong> R & D capacity<br />
<strong>and</strong> infrastructure<br />
1.4 To promote integration <strong>of</strong> R & D projects with the service commitment,<br />
<strong>and</strong> to recommend means <strong>of</strong> resolving resource issues<br />
1.5 To promote implementation <strong>of</strong> the research governance <strong>and</strong> management<br />
framework to satisfy the statutory requirements <strong>of</strong> appropriate legislation<br />
<strong>and</strong> the R & D infrastructure support contract<br />
1.6 To promote the establishment <strong>of</strong> a quality assurance <strong>and</strong> improvement<br />
programme for R & D<br />
1.7 To endorse the Trust annual R & D report, R&D st<strong>and</strong>ard operating<br />
procedures <strong>and</strong> guidance documents.<br />
