Dear Colleague,<br />
It is our privilege to <strong>in</strong>vite you to participate <strong>in</strong> the 19 th National Conference<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Indian Association <strong>of</strong> Surgical Gastroenterology to be held <strong>in</strong> <strong>Mumbai</strong><br />
on the 2 nd 3 rd & 4 th <strong>of</strong> October <strong>2009</strong>. This is the fi rst time that this meet<strong>in</strong>g is<br />
be<strong>in</strong>g held <strong>in</strong> this city.<br />
Surgical Gastroenterology has acquired a dist<strong>in</strong>ct identity as a discipl<strong>in</strong>e and<br />
has grown rapidly <strong>in</strong> the last few years <strong>in</strong> India. In turn the Indian Association <strong>of</strong><br />
Surgical Gastroenterology had also expanded with its unique character be<strong>in</strong>g<br />
its academic focus. Amongst its various activities one <strong>of</strong> the ma<strong>in</strong> features is<br />
the Annual Conference, which is now known for its scientifi c rigour. We hope<br />
to cont<strong>in</strong>ue this tradition <strong>in</strong> <strong>Mumbai</strong>. The program is be<strong>in</strong>g conceptualised to<br />
cover all aspects <strong>of</strong> G I surgery <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Upper G I, Colorectal, HPB, G I<br />
Oncology, Laparoscopy and Liver transplantation.<br />
The <strong>conference</strong> is be<strong>in</strong>g held at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, which is located close<br />
to the domestic airport and has a convention center <strong>of</strong> high quality. We urge<br />
you to consider the residential package, which is highly subsidized as this will<br />
reduce travel time and facilitate the process <strong>of</strong> an early start to the meet<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
We propose to have all the events related to the meet<strong>in</strong>g at the venue.<br />
We look forward to host<strong>in</strong>g you <strong>in</strong> <strong>Mumbai</strong> and do feel free to contact us for<br />

About the Venue<br />
The Hotel Grand Hyatt is a fi ve star facility located at Santa Cruz<br />
(Kal<strong>in</strong>a) and is about 10 m<strong>in</strong>utes from the Domestic airport. It<br />
has a large convention center with one ma<strong>in</strong> auditorium (Grand<br />
Ball Room) and three meet<strong>in</strong>g halls. The hotel has standard fi ve<br />
star facilities <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g ac<strong>com</strong>modation, multicuis<strong>in</strong>e restaurants,<br />
recreational & travel facilities and a large underground park<strong>in</strong>g<br />
