Associate in Applied Science Degree

This program is designed to train students to maintain,
repair and service sophisticated production equipment.
students will obtain a background in electricity, electronics,
hydraulics, plumbing, machine shop processes, and
other areas needed by maintenance technicians. Upon
satisfactory completion of coursework and a minimum
GPA of 2.0, graduates of this program may transfer up to
approximately 63 credit hours toward a BA degree from
the University of Northern Iowa; 16 hours of vocational
credit already transfer to the Iowa Regent schools.

Laboratory Technology
Associate in Science (Career Option) Degree
Offered at ECC (Code: ECLBT)
Students in this program will be exposed to educational
opportunities in food technology, pollution control technology,
agricultural technology and chemical technology.
Graduates may elect to transfer to a four-year college or
university in a science-related curriculum.
Professional scientists in industry and government are
searching for resourceful, creative, and dedicated persons
with two years of college to perform a variety of laboratory
tasks. Positions available include production
technician, research technician, quality control technician,
pollution control technician, and technical service.
Supervisory positions are open to experienced technicians
with a good technical background as well as the
ability and desire to assume responsibility.
Students may elect to specialize in agricultural technology,
environmental technology, chemical technology, introductory
biotechnology or veterinary assistant.
