The estimated total number of participants to international meetings per country is calculated
by multiplying the total number of meetings in a specific country with the average number of
participants per meeting in the same country. This formula enables events where no accurate
figures are known to be included in the estimated total.
As in the number of meetings per country ranking, the U.S.A. is the number one country
measured by the estimated total number of participants per country, with 427,556 participants
in 2007. Italy is second, with an estimated total number of participants in 2007 of 139,613, an
increase of more than 100,000 compared to the 2006 figures. Germany is third with more than
300.000 participants in 2007.
