• Prepare for emergency discharge of the silo<br />

content to a safe location outdoors<br />

• Pre-plan for an extended <strong>in</strong>cident operation (days)<br />

• Gas <strong>in</strong>jection recommended through the silo<br />

bottom<br />

• Silo top should be <strong>in</strong>erted <strong>in</strong> the beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g of the<br />

operation<br />

• Measure O 2 and CO <strong>in</strong> silo top dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ertation<br />

and discharge phase<br />

• Ext<strong>in</strong>guish any burn<strong>in</strong>g material outside of silo if<br />

necessary<br />
