2013 Intake<br />
The BCA Academy has partnered with<br />
University College London (UCL), which<br />
is ranked 4 th in the world, to deliver<br />
the first global postgraduate Master of<br />
Science degree in Facility and Environment<br />
Management in Singapore.<br />
The primary aim of the programme is<br />
to enable participants to achieve an<br />
integrated understanding of the basic<br />
knowledge and operational skills required<br />
for the good management of buildings,<br />
their environments, facilities and support<br />
services. The programme focuses be on<br />
effective planning, design, management,<br />
maintenance and adaptation of buildings,<br />
to ensure they function appropriately and<br />
efficiently to meet specified needs.
Programme Structure<br />
The two-year part-time programme commences in September every<br />
year. It consists of eight modules and a research project. Each module is<br />
complemented by site visit and guest lecture by local industry practitioner.<br />

Elective Modules<br />
Two electives are required for the programme (Details are available at a<br />
later stage).<br />

Delivery<br />
Fully taught by the UCL Faculty, the programme will be delivered through:<br />
i) 3.5 days teaching block, Wednesday through Saturday; and<br />
ii) Distant-learning mode, where 3 modules will be delivered fortnightly<br />
via video-conferencing together with the UK cohorts.<br />
Admission Criteria<br />
The applicant should have a recognised degree with relevant working<br />
experience. Those without first degree but have substantial work<br />
experience in facilities management are eligible to apply. All applications<br />
are subjected to approval by the UCL.<br />
Course Fee and Registration<br />
The course fee is S$33,100 (before GST) and could be paid in four (4)<br />
instalments. Registration closes on 17 May 2013.<br />
Award<br />
Participants who satisfy the graduation requirements will be awarded the<br />
degree of Master of Science in Facility and Environment Management. Such<br />
award, including the transcripts, will be the same as those conferred for<br />
studies on campus at UCL.<br />
Scholarship and Sponsorship<br />
Scholarship and sponsorship will be available. Details will be released at<br />
a later date.<br />
Green Mark Facilities Manager (GMFM)<br />
Graduates who have taken the relevant modules and awarded the<br />
MSc in Facility and Environment Management (conducted at the<br />
BCA Academy) are considered to have fulfilled the ‘Certification Course<br />
for Green Mark Facilities Manager (GMFM)’ requirement for Certified<br />
