TRANSPORT OPTIONS

As the world will descend on South Africa for the 2010 FIFA Soccer
World Cup, construction work at all airports are making travel within
these areas very difficult – we can therefore provide a “MEET AND
GREET” service from the International airport to the relevant
accommodation venues.

Public transport is not readily available due to the vast spacious areas
in South Africa thus we recommend that car hire is used. This can be
arranged for as little as $25 per day for a basic car or $ 30 per day for a
car with air conditioning.
Foreign airports are not always user friendly but this is not the case
with O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) – it is of a 1 st
world standard with modern and safe luggage systems.

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Accommodation ranges from 5 STAR to 3 STAR hotels as well as
guesthouses / bed & breakfasts / lodges which include breakfast daily.
3 STAR graded hotel rates can start from $60 per night (eg. Town
Lodge) whilst 4 STAR graded hotel rates are approximately $200 per
night (eg. Centurion Lake Hotel). The 5 STAR Sheraton Hotel Pretoria
will cost you approximately $300 per night.

No permits or taxes are due on your racing equipment when
accompanied with you on your arrival.
LEISURE & SHOPPING

TECHNOLOGY
Cellular telephone (Mobile phone) networks are readily available.
Local service providers include Vodafone and its worldwide
partners.
Internet access through Vodafone is available on request – with
prior notification through the TRAP organizers as not all
accommodation venues have internet access.

Shopping Malls are plentiful throughout Pretoria to name a
few - Brooklyn Mall, Centurion Mall and Menlyn Mall.
Parking at these malls is conveniently located within these
centres.
Also at these malls, you will find popular worldwide food
chains like McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC),
Nando’s and our local brands Ocean Basket, Bugatti’s &
Mugg and Bean.

Internet cafes are located at central points, for example shopping
centres – these can be used for a nominal fee.

Various night life activities are available in close proximity
including ladies bars and night clubs.

WHAT DOES SOUTH AFRICA HAVE TO OFFER ?
LION, ELEPHANT, RHINO, LEOPARD and BUFFALO. Otherwise known as the BIG FIVE.
Most international tourists try to include a visit to a major game park in their visit to SOUTH AFRICA. The most popular being The Kruger National Park
in Mpumulanga, also the closest to Pretoria – only a 3 hour drive. The Kruger Park is BIG - the core park is about the same size as the country Israel,
and it is joined (without fencing) to another park just as large across the international border with Mozambique. Game lodges are plentiful.
