Fabrics & Materials
PTFE Protection
PTFE is the most breathable membrane technology currently available and is employed in
performance fabrics by both Goretex® and eVent®. The characteristic lattice structure
of this material provides superior moisture vapour transmission properties in comparison
to conventional PU and TPU membranes. Test results have proven PTFE Protection to retain
an impressive breathability rating of greater than 28,000gms/m2/24hrs after multiple
machine washes.
Thermolite®
Ideal for cold weather cycling, Thermolite® uses hollow-core fibre technology to create an
insulating layer of warm air. The result is a lightweight, warm fabric with superior moisture
vapour transport properties that doesn’t get heavy even when wet. The Thermolite quality
developed by Endura has the added benefit of a High Performance Repel TEFLON® fabric
protector finish (from DuPont).
CoolMax®
For warm weather cycling, Coolmax® fabric’s four-channel fibre rapidly pulls sweat away
to keep you comfortable and dry.
Technologies
ColdBlack® Technology
Dark colours attain a higher temperature than light colours when exposed to the same
intensities of direct sunlight. ColdBlack® technology textile finishing reduces this effect
by increasing the amount of infrared and ultraviolet UV rays that are reflected from the
fabric’s surface, thereby dramatically reducing the sunlight heating effect. ColdBlack® also
provides reliable protection from UV rays (minimum UPF 30).
Clickfast
All Endura Baggy Shorts with the “Clickfast compatible” logo are Clickfast ready. These
can be worn with any Endura Clickfast undershort or liner. Some Endura ranges already
include a Clickfast liner and are marked with the “Comes with liner” logo.
Antislip
The MTR anti-slip system incorporates a one-way fabric which is applied to the inner
waistband of the MTR Baggy Shorts and the lumbar of the MTR Bibshorts. The one-way
properties of this fabric create a resistance in opposing directions, locking the two surfaces
together and securing the baggy shorts in place. This system significantly reduces snagging
of the shorts on the bike saddle.
Entrant DT®
Entrant DT is an innovative, highly waterproof and moisture permeable lightweight fabric.
Its unique inner surface treatment gives a smooth and refreshing, dry feel.
Light Reactive
Light Reactive lenses use photochromic technology for a rapid response to changing light
conditions. The lenses respond in 7 seconds to light exposure and offer full UV protection
according to the standard EN1836.
Mig
Mig
Meryl®
Meryl fabric contains particularly fine fibres, producing a lightweight fabric characterised by
soft handle, breathability and resistance to wind and rain.
Lycra®
This material is used as an additive in all of our skin-tight leg-wear to offer optimal stretch
and recovery characteristics.
Cordura®
Cordura offers rugged durability and lightweight strength, being resistant to abrasions,
tears and scuffs.
TEFLON®
High Performance Repel TEFLON® fabric protector prevents fabric wetting out. TEFLON® is
a registered trademark of DuPont used under licence by Endura Ltd.
YKK®
All zippers used in the Endura apparel range are industry leader YKK quality for high
reliability.
MIG
Mig soft shell is a highly elastic performance waterproof and breathable fabric. Not only
does it have four way stretch it is also lightweight ensuring excellent comfort to the wearer
at all times.
Baabaa Merino
Our Baabaa Merino wool is used in its purest form for baselayers and as part of a fabric
blend for our warmer and sock ranges.
Kevlar
Kevlar is a lightweight and highly durable yarn with tremendous tensile strength, which denotes
the amount of stretching it can withstand before breaking. Kevlar is used on selected
Endura products such as protectors, overshoes soles and glove palms to offer protection in
the areas that are most vulnerable to abrasion.
INCLUDED
Light Reactive Plus
Light Reactive Plus lenses incorporate technology that allows for a particularly broad range
of light filtration and so are ideal for use in widely changing light conditions. They offer full
UV protection according to the standard EN1836.
Antifog Finish
A functional anti-fog finish on the inside of the lenses resists misting from perspiration
(aided by vented lenses on certain models). This helps provide unimpaired vision,
particularly when stopping and starting on the bike.
Hydrophobic Finish
Hydrophobic finish is a technical enhancement to the lenses allowing them to repel water
and spray. Water droplets simply slide off the lens leaving streak free, clear vision.
Luminite II LED Unit
The updated Endura Luminite LED unit now emits 8 times more lumens than before. It offers
3 phases of flash frequency and can operate for up to 50hrs on the single coin cell battery.
The Luminite LED has a twist stud attachment which allows it to be interchanged between
different Luminite products and makes it simple to detach for washing the garment. On
certain garments it is housed behind a soft clear silicone hood which protects it from
backpack damage and prevents you losing it.
Waterproof
Measured in mm of water that can be held by the fabric without leaking. 1,000mm is the
minimum measurement needed to pass the accepted definition of “waterproof”. All Endura
waterproof garments are waterproof to 5,000mm and above.
Breathability
Measured in grams of moisture that can pass through a square metre of fabric over 24hrs
(g/m2/24hrs) using the B-1 inverted cup method. All Endura waterproof garments are
fully “breathable”.
Seam-Sealed
For a garment to be truly waterproof, the seams must be sealed (in addition to the fabric
itself being waterproof). All Endura waterproof garments are 100% seam-sealed.
