How to paint:
Apply the ceramic colors on smooth, clean
surfaces. Highly absorbant surfaces, especially
porous surfaces, should be base coated with
Hobby Line Acrylic Gloss Varnish no. 79405. An
artist uses the ceramic colors in the same way
as artist oil colors, the only difference being that
the ceramic colors dry more quickly. When
painting arched surfaces we recommend not
overloading the Hobby Line brush with paint in
order to avoid runs. Paint original designs with
our Hobby Line Stippling brush no. 722306.
Interesting mixing effects can be achieved
when applying the colors on larger areas and
causing them to run together by air blowing them
or using a straw. Colors which are slightly dry
(ca. 1 hour) can be ingraved with a sharp object.
A decorative pattern then appears in the base
coat color.

How to marble:
For paper etc.: Fill a flat, wide pan with
2 - 3 cm of regular water. Using a pipette (glass
pipette no. 811984 or plastic pipette no 91172)
carefully drop the color of your choice onto the
surface of the water. Then take a toothpick or
a comb to create fascinating designs by drawing
them over the surface of the water where the
paint is. Take the desired object for marbling
such as paper and lay it onto the surface of the
water and immerse completely. The colors are
transfered onto the paper. Remove the paper
immediately and let it dry.

For decorating eggs, bulbs, candles, etc.:
Especially popular is the dipping technique for
marbling candles, Easter eggs or Christmas
ornaments. Use an appropriate, deep container
in which you can completely immerse your
objects for marbling (candles, eggs, etc.) The
object becomes an individual piece of artwork
through this technique of marbling by dipping.
Hobby Line Ceramic and Marbling colors are
ideal for decorative purposes. After drying you
can also varnish over the designs. Clean
brushes with turpentine substitutes.
