Inspired by Chinese tradition ESPA has created a collection of Rituals specifically for The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya. A truly
personal experience, each treatment ritual is created to meet the specific needs of the moment. Elements of ancient
Chinese traditions and western practices are linked together to nur ture and rebalance the mind and body. Each unique
treatment experience begins with a welcome Foot Cleansing Ritual incorporating a traditional Chinese therapeutic foot
soak and pressure point massage to balance and ground energy.
ORIENTAL LIFE DANCE 2 HOURS
This unusually, free-flowing joint release massage is Thai-inspired and results in gently calming the mind and replacing
stress-related tension with an immense feeling of peace. Unique to each client, this is a personal experience which
ensures freedom from both physical and mental constraints. This intensely relaxing ritual begins with a symbolic
ceremonial foot cleansing to wash away the stresses and tensions of the real world. A skin softening salt and oil scrub
and a gentle facial cleanse prepare the body to receive a massage combining body rocking, entire body diagonal
stretching and tension releasing rotational movements. A deep oriental head massage is the ultimate conclusion to this
powerful de-stressing experience.
THE BRIGHTENING RITUAL 2 HOURS
Combining skin conditioning and tension release, this treatment brings together intensive care for the hands and face.
An advanced ESPA Skin Brightener Facial tailored to the specific needs of your skin incorporates Chinese acupressure
massage techniques. During the soothing facial mask, the hands and arms are gently exfoliated, then massaged using
a rich blend of aromatherapy oils and Skin Brightener. This is followed by a warm paraffin wax treatment and finished
with an application of white clay hand cream to help even-out skin tone. The result is deep relaxation, restored and
revitalized skin and intensely nourished hands and arms.
THE RESTORING RITUAL 2 HOURS
A uniquely soothing and hydrating treatment that heals and restores sun exposed skins, this ritual combines a cooling
body envelopment and desensitizing facial to calm and deliver comfort to the skin. Ideal to combat the effects of the

THE ‘YU ZU’ REFLEX ZONE RITUAL 1 HOUR
Foot massage is a fundamental element of traditional Chinese Medicine. ‘Yu’ meaning ‘precious’, ‘Zu’ meaning ‘feet’, this
foot massage is designed to ease the flow of ‘Qi’ along energy channels while subtly relaxing fatigued feet. Following the
foot cleansing ritual, reflex zones and pressure points on the feet are massaged and then a warm soothing compress
infused with Traditional Chinese herbs is applied to create an overall feeling of well-being.
