Inspired by Chinese tradition ESPA has created a collection of Rituals specifically for The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya. A truly 

personal experience, each treatment ritual is created to meet the specific needs of the moment. Elements of ancient 

Chinese traditions and western practices are linked together to nur ture and rebalance the mind and body. Each unique 

treatment experience begins with a welcome Foot Cleansing Ritual incorporating a traditional Chinese therapeutic foot 

soak and pressure point massage to balance and ground energy. 

ORIENTAL LIFE DANCE 2 HOURS 

This unusually, free-flowing joint release massage is Thai-inspired and results in gently calming the mind and replacing 

stress-related tension with an immense feeling of peace. Unique to each client, this is a personal experience which 

ensures freedom from both physical and mental constraints. This intensely relaxing ritual begins with a symbolic 

ceremonial foot cleansing to wash away the stresses and tensions of the real world. A skin softening salt and oil scrub 

and a gentle facial cleanse prepare the body to receive a massage combining body rocking, entire body diagonal 

stretching and tension releasing rotational movements. A deep oriental head massage is the ultimate conclusion to this 

powerful de-stressing experience. 

THE BRIGHTENING RITUAL 2 HOURS 

Combining skin conditioning and tension release, this treatment brings together intensive care for the hands and face. 

An advanced ESPA Skin Brightener Facial tailored to the specific needs of your skin incorporates Chinese acupressure 

massage techniques. During the soothing facial mask, the hands and arms are gently exfoliated, then massaged using 

a rich blend of aromatherapy oils and Skin Brightener. This is followed by a warm paraffin wax treatment and finished 

with an application of white clay hand cream to help even-out skin tone. The result is deep relaxation, restored and

PRE AND POST NATAL TREATMENT 1 HOUR 30 MINUTES 

This total body treatment has been carefully designed for pregnant and nursing mothers. It begins with a gentle back 

cleanse and exfoliation, followed by a soothing back massage using Nourishing Treatment Oil. A gently warmed, deeply 

nourishing body mask used for its hydrating, soothing and conditioning properties is then carefully applied to the back 

before the rest of the body and legs are gently exfoliated and massaged. The remainder of the body is then covered 

in the nourishing mask and comfor tingly wrapped to relax the muscles. The scalp is therapeutically massaged. This 

treatment improves the tonicity and comfort of the skin, and creates a sense of total relaxation. 

DETOXIFYING HIP AND THIGH TONER 1 HOUR 

A specialized ESPA treatment that helps stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems, concentrating on the areas of 

the body prone to cellulite, fluid retention and uneven skin tone. Following a deep exfoliation, detoxifying massage and 

light lymphatic drainage techniques using stimulating essential oils help to purify and cleanse the body. Relevant reflex 

zones and pressure points on the feet are then massaged to leave you feeling totally revitalized. A course of treatments

MARINE MUD BACK TREATMENT 1 HOUR

After a day on the fairway, please allow yourself some time to recover and soothe aching muscles with this treatment 

targeting swing tension held in the back and neck, and golf weary legs and feet. Begin with a soothing foot soak, scrub 

and specific massage with hot stones to lower legs and feet then a warming mask of paraffin wax restores energy to 

fatigued soles. This treatment culminates with a powerful back massage using hot stones that helps to release tension 

and muscular stress and leave body and mind revitalized. 

CHINESE MASSAGE 1 HOUR 

Combining traditional Chinese methods of acupressure massage with specific stretches and deep breathing techniques,

A luxury arm, hand and nail treatment including a gentle skin refiner and a therapeutic massage incorporating hot 

stones with the appropriate aromatherapy massage oils. A warm envelopment of paraffin wax will intensively nourish, 

soften and condition hands and nails. 

LUXURY FOOT AND LEG HOT STONE TREATMENT 1 HOUR 15 MINUTES 

Luxury foot, leg and nail treatment including gentle exfoliation, and a relaxing acupressure point massage with the 

appropriate aromatherapy massage oil incorporating hot stones. The feet are then enveloped in warm paraffin wax to

TREATMENT HEAT EXPERIENCE AND RELAXATION AREA 

These areas are for enjoyment specifically with a treatment 

experience, The Heat Experience facilities and Relaxation 

Lounges are separate for Female and Male guests with a shared 

Tea Lounge and Cour tyard. Each Heat Experience area 

consists of:

STEAM ROOM, SAUNA, VITALITY POOL 

AND LOUNGING DECK 

The Steam Room, provides a cleansing, relaxing experience for 

both Female and Male guests. The pleasantly warm therapeutic 

vitality pool with air and water massage zones is discreetly 

positioned within a shaded cour tyard. These facilities can be 

enjoyed with or without a treatment experience. 

FITNESS SUITE 

The Fitness Suite consists of a state of the ar t Fitness Studio 

with the latest TechnoGym cardio-vascular, resistance equipment 

and free weights; the Chi Studio offering Yoga, Pilates, Meditation 

and Tai Chi classes, and a dedicated Kinesis Studio with the latest 

revolutionary Kinesis resistance training equipment. Personal 

Training sessions available on request. 

KINESIS STUIDO 

The kinesis studio is designed to re-establish the optimum 

balance between mind and body improving the quality of an 

individual’s life–the mind guides the body in a tri dimensional 

space by focusing on the individual’s balance, flexibility and 

strength. Kinesis allows the individual to perform exercises that 

involve a specific group of muscles at variable levels of difficulty, 

to train strength flexibility and balance training. 

SPA TREATMENTS 

All treatments include the use of the Treatment Heat 

Experiences and Relaxation Lounges. The Vitality Pool and Fitness 

Suite facilities are available for all residential hotel guests and 

Day Spa Program guests. 

For non-residential guests, all treatments are also available with 

a minimum treatment booking time of two hours (Finishing 

Touches treatments are in addition to this). Bookings must be 

secured with a credit card. 

SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT 

To schedule an appointment for the perfect treatment, please 

speak with our specialist Spa reception team who will guide you 

to the right choice. To ensure your preferred time and treatment 

is available we do advise booking in advance. 

SPA ETIQUETTE 

Our Spa environment is one of relaxation and tranquility. Please 

respect all Spa Guests’ right to privacy and serenity. In light of 

this the Spa is a mobile phone, pager and smoke-free zone. 

The Steam Room, Vitality Pool and Lounging Deck are mixed 

therefore the use of swimwear is essential. 

We would like to invite residential Hotel guests to arrive at the 

Spa wearing the robe and slippers provided in their room. 

The Spa will provide abundant towels and amenities required for 

use during your visit. 

The minimum age requirement for access and treatments in The 

Spa is 16. 

GIFT VOUCHERS 

Gift vouchers are available for two-hour treatments, Day Spa 

Retreats and products, and are an ideal present for someone 

special. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and must be presented 

at time of treatment or purchase. 

HEALTH CONDITIONS 

Kindly advise us of any health conditions, allergies, recent medical 

or cosmetic procedures or injuries, which could affect your 

service when making your Spa reservation. 

CANCELLATION POLICY 

A 50% cancellation charge will be incurred for any treatment 

or Spa Retreat not cancelled at least four hours prior to 

appointment. Cancellation within one hour of treatment time will 

incur a 100% charge. 

PREGNANCY 

We have specially designed treatments for expectant and nursing 

mothers. Please allow our Spa team to guide you in selecting 

which treatments are most suitable for you during this special time. 

HOMECARE 

To continue your Spa experience at home, all ESPA products used 

in the treatments are available from the Spa Reception.
