Room 101 The great leader and founder of modern-day Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed at the Pera Palace in 1917 for the first time and from then on Room 101 was his preferred choice. On his 100 th birthday in 1981, the room was converted into a museum. Room 101 is decorated in “sunrise pink”, Atatürk’s favourite colour. The room is open to visits and contains the personel belongings of Atatürk such as his clothes, hats, shoes, eye-glasses and such. Pera Palace continues to collect items related to Atatürk and those pertinent to the early 20 th century period, including books, magazines, carpets and medals. Atatürk Museum Room Agatha Christie Room Agatha Christie Room Renowned crime writer, Agatha Christie was a regular guest in Pera Palace Hotel between 1926 and 1932 and the “Murder On the Orient Express” was allegedly written in Room 411. The mysteries surrounding Christie's lost diary are pinned on discovery of a key in the same room. Enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the extensive collection of Agatha Christie novels, written in different languages whilst relaxing in the elegant surroundings. 9
