Logistics Economics
and Globalisation
© 2013 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd

Scope of the Journal
IJLEG proposes and fosters discussion on the development and application of logistics in
the world economy and globalised arena. With the increased complexity and competition in
today’s and tomorrow’s supply chain and extended enterprise, logistical systems and
technologies play a critical role in ensuring the flow of tangible and intangible goods and
information in a production network.
The economics perspective in this context calls for an improved performance assessment,
evaluation and modelling of such logistical systems, evolving around issues related to human
capital, intellectual capital and knowledge capital. More innovative analysis and better
understanding of the complexity in a supply chain are essential in today’s global businesses.
Therefore, new and adapted theories, configurable models and frameworks are necessary for
supply chain to compete and perform in such a dynamic, complex and evolving
What the experts say
about IJLEG
As business operations become increasingly
international, the pressures facing organisations
are intensify. Global Logistics is indeed a complex
process and the more so as organisations stretch
their markets to more and more international
horizons. The mission of the International Journal
of Logistics Economics and Globalisation is very
much aligned with the supply chain problems and
opportunities facing global corporations as well
as of the supply chain change drivers and how
they impact upon different business
sectors/cultures. I am sure that IJLEG will
become a leading journal and will have a
significant impact on society's standard of living
as Logistics.
Logistics plays an integral role in the
development of global commerce, and I expect
the International Journal of Logistics Economics
and Globalization (IJLEG) will contribute to our
understanding of this role.
What the experts say
about IJLEG (cont.)
“International Journal of Logistics Economics and
Globalization (IJLEG) provides a ground for practice
and academy to know the impact of Economics and
Globalisation to logistics. With this knowledge,
organizations can have bigger and better view to
assign their own resources in their supplier/demand
network in order to build their competitive
advantages.”
Dr. Tzong-Ru Lee
Associate Editor of IJLEG, Marketing professor
and Chairman of Institute of Electronic Commerce
National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan
I am excited about the prospects for assisting with
this new journal – IJLEG. It is launched timely and
focuses well on a fast moving and highly regarded
subject area. I am sure that in a short period of time
IJLEG will become a leading journal in the field on
its own right.
