Scope of the <strong>Journal</strong><br />
IJAutoC provides comprehensive explanation of how advanced composites (FRPs,<br />
re<strong>in</strong>forced thermoplastics, carbon-based composites and many others) are<br />
designed, processed and utilised <strong>in</strong> automotive vehicles. It <strong>in</strong>cludes technical<br />
explanation of advanced composites <strong>in</strong> vehicle design/analysis and covers all<br />
phases of composites design, analysis, modell<strong>in</strong>g, test<strong>in</strong>g, manufactur<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

I am honoured to be a part of this new journal which<br />
addresses a strategic area of research. The new<br />
IJAutoC will cover an important area of eng<strong>in</strong>eered<br />
materials that is currently crucial for the automotive<br />
sector. I see that composites materials will play a major<br />
role <strong>in</strong> develop<strong>in</strong>g new architectures for vehicle weight<br />
reduction. Hence, I am expect<strong>in</strong>g that the new journal<br />
will be a great hit with every researcher who is work<strong>in</strong>g<br />
on future <strong>in</strong>novations. It gives a great pleasure to be part<br />

The use of polymer, metal and ceramic matrix<br />
composites <strong>in</strong> automotive eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g will become<br />
<strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>gly important as vehicle manufacturers strive to<br />
reduce vehicle weight <strong>in</strong> order to meet str<strong>in</strong>gent new<br />
emissions targets. This new journal provides an<br />
important forum for discussion of the latest advances <strong>in</strong><br />
composites technology as applied with<strong>in</strong> automotive<br />
eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

repository of valuable <strong><strong>in</strong><strong>format</strong>ion</strong>, to support it is new<br />
and is urgently needed. I have no doubts that IJAutoC<br />
will evolve to become the <strong>in</strong>ternational hub for progress,<br />
novelty, <strong>in</strong>novation, and cutt<strong>in</strong>g-edge applied R&D for<br />
the automotive community.<br />

have no doubt that it will be very successful. It is a great<br />
