We’d like to invite you to our
Christmas services this month!
On Sunday December 18 at 7-30 pm is the
Carols in the Valley on our church
grounds. All are invited. On Christmas
Eve (Saturday December 24) we have an
informal family service with emphasis on
the kids at 5-30 pm.
At 11 pm on Christmas Eve we have a formal
carols and bible readings service with
traditional Christmas hymns.
The 11 pm service is always very special and
meaningful as we focus on Jesus.
At 8-30 am on Christmas Day (Sunday
December 25) we will have a service with
communion.
All are invited to come along and remember
how Jesus was born with a special purpose.
God is alive and working powerfully in
Kangaroo Valley.
We were thankful to God for the adult
confirmations of Sue Baker and Lyn Robinson
who became followers of Jesus this year, as
well as Vanessa Hartley from
Bugong who was baptised in
the creek at Riverstone Horse
Stud. God has transformed
their lives and they each
shared how God has done this
for them.
This Christmas we hope you
will remember that Jesus was
born with a purpose.
That purpose is to tell you
how to make peace with God.
How? Jesus says through
trusting and following him.
Jesus said ‘I am the Way, the
Truth and the Life; no-one
comes to the Father except
through me’ (John 14:6).
I’m sure you will receive some lovely gifts this
Christmas from the people you love.
God loves you so much he offers you a gift too –
Jesus, the best gift of all.
But a gift isn’t anything unless you take it and
open it up to enjoy its benefits.
Many thanks to Carl and all involved with
producing the Valley Voice again in 2011.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish
you all a very special Christmas and new year in
2012.
St Joseph's Catholic Church
Folk festival groups used the church as a
venue and appreciated our generosity
and its acoustics. Mass at 11 am on
Sunday was listed in the programme
with the note that wrist band were not
needed for entry.
Gabrielle and Sascha Murphy and Holly Boyle
received their First Holy Communion at Mass
on Sunday November 20.
A Communion Breakfast was held in the rear
garden of the church afterward, for family and
parishioners with a fine repast and a
communion cake.
Christmas Masses this year are on Christmas
Eve Saturday December 24 at 9 pm and
Christmas Day Sunday at 11 am.
