Dredging activity is mainly performed by suction pump, and can dredge up to a maximum depth of 30 meters. This pump can fill the hopper with sand in 1.5 hours, which<br />

gives a very high speed of work. It can also dredge mud, in which case the team is able to fill the hopper with a concentration of mud up to 80%.<br />

“OMVAC DIEZ”<br />

His team of dredging is completed with a comprehensive system of control over it for a more<br />

efficient and productive work. Such a system includes dredging, production meter tube position<br />

indicator, indicators of pressure after the pump dredging and vacuum in the suction<br />

of the pump, pump speed, velocity of the liquid in the pipe and concentration of pulp, etc.<br />

NODOSA Shipyard has recently delivered the Trailing Suction Split Hopper<br />

Dredger "OMVAC DIEZ", which is a kind of multi-purpose vessel specialized in<br />

carrying out dredging, landfills and marine rearrangements.<br />

The downloading of the material may be carried out in two ways:<br />

■ One, with the opening of the town, in free fall, either instant or controlled.<br />

■ The other, with pump of dredged by the bow of the ship, driving water pulp and/or arid land by a floating pipe, in which case the ship can download up to 750<br />

meters of distance.<br />

Both ways are ideal for work required in most tourism-dependent countries: the regeneration of beaches.<br />

For propulsion the dredger has two engines diesel CATERPILLAR, each coupled to SCHOTTEL azimuth thrusters, with 360º turn. This gives the ship a great manoeuvrability,<br />

which is increased with the help of a lateral supporter in bow. Thus, the evolution of the ship is minimal, and can operate in areas very low, similar to its<br />

own length.The dredger "OMVAC DIEZ" reaches a speed up, freely and without charge, about 10.5 knots, and meets all the regulations in Spain as a ship in the III<br />

Group, T Class, so it is equipped with the corresponding services and prepared to be able to move from a port to another with an average of 3500 nautical miles of<br />

autonomy. In addition to suction dredging ship, as is said, is designed to perform another type of maritime works, such as the transport of products derived from the<br />

normal activity of dredging, or jetties, aggregates, etc. Also the vessel can perform dredging with backhoe, which is on a sliding bridge up and along the hopper, with<br />

two areas for stowage the machine at each end of it.<br />

The ship is subject to SOLAS rules, and is classified by the company GERMANISCHER LLOYD, ✠ Class 100A5, RSA(50), Split Hopper Dredger, ✠ Hull, (✠) MC.<br />

Dimensions and technical characteristics of this vessel, which has been designed and developed with close collaboration between the technical offices of NODO-<br />

SA and F. CARCELLER, are summarized on the Technical Data of the ship that you may request to NODOSA.<br />

As you can see, with the exposed features, the ship is a powerful and versatile unit of dredging, fully operational and very productive, ready to meet the desire for<br />

which it was conceived by the Shipowners.
