(<strong>PEO</strong> <strong>STRI</strong>), ORLANDO, FL<br />

The Program Executive Office Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (<strong>PEO</strong> <strong>STRI</strong>)<br />

announces recruitment for the position of Program Manager (<strong>APM</strong> <strong>OPS</strong>) (Supv), YA-<br />

0340-03, in PM Field <strong>OPS</strong>. The position is in the National Security Personnel System<br />

(NSPS) and is located in Orlando, FL.<br />

Duty Description:<br />

Position serves as the Assistant Program Manager/Business Manager with shared<br />

responsibility and authority for all aspects of Field <strong>OPS</strong> program management. Develops<br />

the MDEP WCLS budget in the Program Objective Memorandum (POM). Allocates<br />

WCLS budget to <strong>APM</strong>’s during year of execution. Serves as a principal advisor to the<br />

PM on business management matters to include resources management and acquisition<br />

management. The Business Manager advises and supports the PM in the formulation and<br />

execution of sound business practices, procedures and responses and in the review and<br />

evaluation of these activities. Will also be responsible for the budgeting, planning and<br />

funds execution of the Warfighter FOCUS contract with oversight of Contracting Officer<br />

Representative duties and responsibilities.<br />

Preferred Qualifications – The following qualifications are considered key to success in<br />

this position and will be used as discriminators in determining best qualified applicants:<br />

- Minimum of Bachelor Degree. Advanced degree(s) is desired.<br />

- Minimum of DAWIA Level III certification in Program Management. Additional<br />

DAWIA certifications are strongly desired.<br />

- Demonstrated ability to lead people, teams, and programs.<br />

- Demonstrated ability to supervise personnel.<br />

- Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing.<br />

- In-depth knowledge of and experience with the Department of Defense Acquisition<br />

processes, including programming and budgeting.<br />

The <strong>APM</strong> position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Selectee must be a<br />

member of the Acquisition Corps before being appointed to the position. Applicants do<br />

not have to be a member of the AC in order to apply for this position.


DAWIA Certification. This is a Level III position in Program Management, acquisition<br />

position category A.<br />

Security Clearance. This position requires that the incumbent be able to obtain and<br />

maintain a Secret security clearance.<br />

Salary. The pay range for a YA-03 position in Orlando in 2008 is $77,018 to $130,211<br />

base pay per annum, plus the local market supplement (LMS) of 13.18%.<br />
