TIES THAT BIND
......................................
“I chose South West Health,
because I like the lifestyle – it is
a great place to raise children.
Because our communities are
close knit, I see staff going above
and beyond the call of duty to
help our patients.”
Donna Braun, Pharmacist
BEAUTY ABOUND
......................................
“I love the community, it’s
beautiful and the people are
friendly and outgoing. Not to
FIRST-RATE COMMUNITY
......................................
“I moved to Nova Scotia this
summer (2003) from Calgary,
Alberta, because I wanted to live
and work in a smaller urban or
rural setting. Nova Scotia has
proven to be a beautiful place to
work and live. I love the harbours,
the quiet public beaches and the
hilly forest landscape. I am
originally from rural New
Brunswick and having lived in a
large city for the past eight years
I have developed a better
appreciation for the quietude
rural living offers. As well, I have
met many warm and neighbourly
people since moving to Nova
Scotia, which has helped me to
feel that I am part of a first-rate
community.”
Digby County
Come to the world’s highest tides and the
famous Digby scallops, this picturesque
community is just a ferry ride away from the
hustle and bustle of New Brunswick, and only metres
away from countless majestic humpback whales,
should you venture across the Bay of Fundy,
off Digby Neck. And, whether
you choose to stroll
along the
town’s
waterfront,
take in the
breathtaking
beauty of a late
summer sunset,
or visit one of the area’s quaint cafes or charming
country inns, you’ll soon discover why Digby has
been named one of the most romantic spots in Canada!
This miraculous setting is also where you’ll
find Digby General
Hospital – a primary
health care facility
where a staff of 115
offer 24-hour
emergency care;
outpatient services
such as physiotherapy,
nutrition counselling
and specialty clinics;
inpatient medical care;
and restorative,
convalescent and
continuing care to
nearly 20,000 people. The facility is also home to
several physician offices, speech therapists, addiction
counsellors, a domestic violence support group,
hospice, VON, Home Care, Public Health, Mental Health
that operates an Alzheimer Unit.

SMALL TOWN BLESSINGS
......................................
“I am an internist and my wife is a
family physician. We came to
Yarmouth 30 years ago and have
immensely enjoyed our stay that
has provided full professional
satisfaction. Having lived in big
cities in other countries, we
realised after coming here, the
blessings of a small town – the
closeness of the community and
friendly environment in and outside
the hospital. Our two boys were
born and raised here. They have
since moved away, but have fond
memories and visit often.”
A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE
......................................
“The smell of the ocean and the
call of the seagulls is what initially
drew me to Yarmouth. What made
me stay was the fact that it is a
great place to raise my sons and
acreage is actually affordable.
Yarmouth is a quaint town that
has a great deal to offer without
taking on the bustle of a larger
city. People are very friendly and
the pace of life quite relaxed. It
has beautiful scenery and
interesting places to explore.
From a professional point of view,
Yarmouth Heaven on is a Earth great place to be.
There
"The
THE IDEAL SETTING
......................................
“I chose Digby, because of the
opportunity to work in the
emergency department where I
would see a variety of cases. I
also like the location, since it is
close to the Saint John ferry and
to Halifax.”
