A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded by Larry Davis to recommend approval of the<br />

following support staff early retirement:<br />

Motion carried unanimously.<br />

PS-2<br />

A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded by Larry Davis to recommend approval of the<br />

A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded by Larry Davis to recommend approval of the<br />

Motion carried unanimously.<br />

The appointment of Teresa Lien, District Literacy Coach, was approved during a special Board meeting in<br />

June 20<strong>10</strong>, thus this appointment was dropped from the July PSC meeting agenda.<br />

Re-appointments<br />

PS-5<br />

A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded Larry Davis to recommend the re-appointment of the<br />

following professional staff employee from lay-off status (see PS-8):<br />

Bobbi Rohrs 2009-20<strong>10</strong> Location: East/Woodside/Howe<br />

Position: Music/Instrumental (0.50 FTE)<br />

Motion carried unanimously.<br />

Summer Grounds Staff Appointments<br />

20<strong>10</strong>-2011 Location: East<br />

Position: Instructional Technology Specialist (0.50 FTE)<br />

*Replacing: Jed Schilling (transfer to Science at WRMS, 1.0 FTE)<br />

*(Noted on the July 20<strong>10</strong> PSC Background as “new position”)<br />

P-6 A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded by Larry Davis to recommend the appointment of<br />

Kevin Berg and Benjamin Kinzel, to the two vacant Summer Grounds Crew positions (as noted in<br />

the May 3, 20<strong>10</strong>, Committee minutes), <strong>for</strong> the remainder of the 20<strong>10</strong> summer only, at the hourly<br />

wage rate of $<strong>10</strong>.00 per hour.<br />

P-7 A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded by Larry Davis to recommend approval of the<br />

following support staff posting result:<br />

Motion carried unanimously.<br />

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION<br />

Layoff Notices/Bumping<br />

Kay Marks provided the Committee with an update regarding layoff notices <strong>for</strong> the WREA and food<br />

service groups. In addition, in<strong>for</strong>mation was shared regarding the custodial group bumping process.<br />

PS-8<br />

A motion was made by Anne Lee, seconded by Larry Davis to recommend approval of the<br />

issuance of layoff notices to the following WRPS employees which will become effective at the<br />

beginning of the 20<strong>10</strong>-2011 school year: Corey Lake, Abigail Kreisa, Ashley Tessmer, Mary<br />

Gilbertson, Adam Holberg, Kelli Hedlund, Amanda Menzer, Whitney Petersen, Bobbi Rohrs (see<br />

PS-5 above <strong>for</strong> Bobbi’s up-to-date employment status <strong>for</strong> the 20<strong>10</strong>-11 school year), and Beth Frank.<br />

POLICY REVIEW<br />

Policy 411 Discrimination, Harassment and Bullying Prohibited; 411R Rule Student Discrimination, and<br />

Harassment Complaint Procedures; and 411R2 Rule Bullying Complaint Procedures <strong>for</strong> Second Reading<br />

At its July meeting, the Personnel Services Committee unanimously recommended that Policies 411,<br />

411R, and 411R2 be referred back to the “Bullying Committee” <strong>for</strong> further clarification and research.<br />

Policy 671.1 Expense Reimbursement <strong>for</strong> Second Reading<br />

PS-9<br />

A motion was made by Larry Davis, seconded by Anne Lee to recommend approval of Policy<br />

671.1 Expense Reimbursement, as presented, <strong>for</strong> second reading.<br />

Motion carried unanimously.<br />

Policy 221.2 Recruitment/Appointment of Administrators <strong>for</strong> First Reading<br />

With the recent vacancy of the Associate Principal position at the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Rapids</strong> Junior High School,<br />

the administrative hiring process will soon begin to fill this vacancy. Based upon input from the incoming<br />

Superintendent, Policy 221.2 Recruitment/Appointment of Administrators needed to be revisited to take<br />

these hiring philosophies into consideration.<br />

PS-<strong>10</strong> A motion was made by Larry Davis, seconded by Anne Lee to recommend approval of Policy<br />

221.2 Recruitment/Appointment of Administrators, with noted changes, <strong>for</strong> first reading.<br />
