Acts 2:44 –47:
All the believers were together
and had everything in
common. They sold property
and possessions to give to
anyone who had need. Every
day they continued to meet
together in the temple courts.
They broke bread in their
homes and ate together with
glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the
favor of all the people. And the
Lord added to their number daily
those who were being saved.
It’s still possible! Come spend a
weekend with the leadership of
Mission Arlington / Mission
Metroplex. Tour the facilities, enjoy
breakout sessions with ministry
coordinators, and participate in
outreach efforts with our local
missionaries.
Experience firsthand the seamless
blend of evangelism and service.
Join a group of believers that still
meet everyday in homes, still give to
Local Missions
Leadership
Weekend
April 16—18, 2010

I asked a lady, “Would
you come to church with
me?”
“Oh, no, Ms. Tillie. Isn’t
church for people who
have their lives together?
I don’t have my life
together yet. When I get
my life together, I’ll come
to church.”
That’s when I knew we must take church to
the people. Out of one lady’s need for help
with her utility bill and some furniture and
clothing, we were able to begin teaching John
3:16 in her apartment. They had not heard
God’s Word in years; some had never heard
that God loves them.
Today, more than twenty-three years later, we
have more than 265 mission congregations
and Bible Studies meeting in neighborhoods
and multi-housing communities.
We believe God is calling His church to reach
all people, not just ten percent. Not just those
who look just like we look or act just like we
act. We know you believe this too. We know
that you, too, are burdened to reach your
hometown community for Jesus Christ.
Now we would like to extend an invitation to
you: Bring your church leadership to come
experience what God is up to through the
ministry of Mission Arlington / Mission
Metroplex during our first Local Missions
Leadership Weekend. Bring your pastor, your
minister of missions, your deacons, or any
leadership you think would benefit from this
free event.
Come spend three days with us. Let’s see
what God can do through all of us working
together to reach this world for Christ.
April 16—18, 2010
We are pleased to invite you to this exciting new training opportunity for church leadership.
place. Join the missionaries of Mission Arlington as they work to share the gospel
in their communities. Work in our donations processing area to “get your hands
dirty” experiencing the nuts and bolts of the physical side of our ministry. Participate
in breakout sessions with key staff of Mission Arlington / Mission Metroplex for
in depth training in specific areas ranging from working with apartment managers to
administering a free clinic; from understanding non-profit status to building a church
in a culture that is not your own.
Sunday: Join Mission Arlington leadership for a prayer time followed by a question
and answer session. Worship in our mission congregations all across this city. The
weekend will conclude with a special worship service from 3:30—5:00 that afternoon
with all the Mission Arlington / Mission Metroplex missionaries.
Responses to the 2009 conference:
“I feel like we learned so much that will help us reach those who are overlooked
and ignored in our community.”
“Those of us who were able to come continue to process what we heard and to put
it into action! I sense that God is stirring the heart of our church and I anticipate
great things ahead. He continues to teach us how to apply what we learn on the
field to our mission field at home.”
“Thanks to ALL of you for a wonderful, Spirit-filled conference last weekend.
Those that attended with me saw and caught the vision. When we step out in faith,
He responds AMAZINGLY!!!!”
“We didn’t know what to expect but we were really blessed by all that you do and
we met a lot of really great people. All were there for the same reason we were:
wanting to do more and reach more people in our communities to let them know
God loves them and so do we.”
“Thank you does not seem adequate for what your conference did for me this past
weekend. Never in my life have I felt like I walked with Jesus as I did on Saturday.
I know God is doing a work in my heart as to where He would want me to serve. I
do know for the first time in my life I see myself as a missionary who can take the
simple love of Jesus Christ to a people who need to know His love and provision.”
