The involvement of the institute in
crop protection management
A key role in the registration of plant protection
products for ornamental uses :
• Annual transmission of the needs of the sectors to
the Operating Technical Committee (december)
• A multi-level collaboration with plant protection firms
incitement for the registration of PPP by extension
of uses for the horticulture sector
direct support to the drafting of the BAD for part or all
financial support testing in many cases (see next)

Status of requests for extension of use of plant
protection products on ornamental crops
About twenty registration dossiers are currently being
set up…
• BAD submitted in 2010 :
CONSERVE : extension on caterpillars of ornamental crops
TOPSIN 70 WG : bulbs in dipping (rots due to Rhizoctonia,
Fusarium, etc…) and many other foliar applications
MERPAN SC : bulbs in dipping
• BAD being submitted in 2011
VIVANDO : powdery mildew of ornamentals
SIGNUM : botrytis, powdery mildew, and rusts of ornamentals

• assessment period: the agency is committed to
ensuring that this does not exceed 6 months for a
minor use
• cost of the whole evaluation dossier : 2000 € by
extension of use of a product already authorized
• separation of tasks:

– Risk management decision: Ministry for Agriculture
