Foreword
The Central Inland Capture Fisheries Research Institute, being the
premier research facility of India in inland fisheries, the research results
emanating from this Institute are sought after by a cross section of the scientific
community in India and abroad. However, the results and findings of CIFRI's
research projects are scattered in a number of national and international
journals, bulletins etc., making their search a tedious task. There has been a
consistent demand for compilation of publications by the Institute and its
scientists.
Thus, List- of Publications 1985-1996fulfils a long-cherished need for a
compilation of research papers, bulletins and other publications, that come out
of the research activities of the Instifute. This is a sequal to the CIFRI Bulletins
22 and 24, published in the years 1976 and 1986 respectively. The author,
subject, taxonomic and serial indices provided at the end come very handy for
the readers in locating the references. The entries are arranged year-wise.
While the calendar year has been followed in 1986,year has been reckoned as
April to March from,1987-88.
I am confident that this document will prove to be a useful reference
tool for researchers, teachers and students in their pursuit of R & D activities in
inland fisheries.
