ForewordReservoirs, being an important inland fisheries resource of thecountry, are a subject of research all over the country. Many researchprojects on the subject are being pursued by scholars and scientists invarious research Institutes, Universities who are in need of information onreservoir fisheries. Planners and policy makers are also in need ofinformation on this resource. A lot of research work has been done in Indiaon reservoirs which are scattered in many journals, bulletins andDepartmental publications.Timely availability of literature is an essential prerequisite for anyresearch activity and therefore this Bibliography will come very handy forthe researchers working on reservoirs. We shall feel gra tified if thispublication of CIFRI will make the literature search on reservoirs a mu_cbeasier task for all concerned.Dr. M. Sinha:DirectorCIFRI/

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTThe authors wish to acknowledge with deep regards the facilitiesprovided by, Dr. M.
