WHAT TO PACK FOR YOUR HOLIDAY 

Most evenings on board are smart casual with a few formal nights for 

the chance to dress up too. Depending on the length of your holiday 

there will be one or more formal evenings whilst you are on board. 

Although Fred. Olsen ships also feature a casual dining restaurant for 

those guests who prefer not to join the formal evenings. Dress code 

for these restaurants is smart casual every evening. 

Most evenings during your cruise holiday will be smart casual, so you 

can feel relaxed and comfortable whilst enjoying your dinner. For 

men, a pair of trousers, chinos or smart (dark) jeans, coupled with a 

polo shirt or shirt is absolutely fine. Some guests prefer to wear a 

jacket or tie. Ladies’ dress can range from tailored trouser suits and 

stylish dresses to casual separates and summer dresses. The choice 

is yours. 

Casual wear is perfectly acceptable in the daytime, with many guests 

opting for shorts and a T-shirt or polo shirt while holidaying in sunny 

climes, and a pair of light-weight trousers and a sweater or jacket for 

cooler daytime temperatures.

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD 

At Fred. Olsen, we know that dining is one of the experiences that make your holiday such 

a pleasure. This is why our team of expert chefs painstakingly plan sumptuous menus of 

carefully prepared meals, designed to make your mouth water. 

Every day our menus are something special, with dishes varying from appetisers such as herb 

marinated salmon or crabmeat cocktail, to indulgent main courses like sirloin steak with a 

choice of sauces, pan-seared red snapper with scallops, slow roast duckling confit or balsamic 

braised lamb shank. 

Of course, we always have options for vegetarians and healthy choices too, with an emphasis 

on fish dishes inspired by our Norwegian heritage: so even if you’re watching your diet, you’re 

in for a treat! Our desserts are every bit as tasty (think white chocolate parfait or mango apple 

tart) and the sugar free option means no-one has to miss out.

SMALL BUT SPACIOUS 

The smaller scale of our ships doesn’t mean 

less room. Each bedroom has ample space, 

with an en suite bathroom and all the 

facilities you’ll need to enjoy your holiday 

in comfort. 

In fact, our rooms are comparable in size to 

those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. 

With less people on board, it’s easy to find a 

quiet spot to enjoy a peaceful drink or 

undisturbed read, stretch out by the pool 

and get ashore quicker – without the need to 

fight for space with thousands of people. 

YOUR CHOICE OF ROOMS 

When it comes to choosing accommodation, 

there’s a range of different options, so you 

can pick what suits you best. Interior Rooms 

are usually at the lowest prices. They are 

ideal for those who prefer to spend more 

time out and about and less time in their 

cabin. A Standard Ocean View Room is great 

if you want to throw back the curtain and 

see the arrival into a new destination or 

admire the beautiful blue seas through your 

window or porthole. For a special experience, 

a Suite allows you to indulge in a little more 

relaxation and space with a private place 

to unwind.

This Caribbean holiday with a difference takes in a selection of stunning islands, along 

with calls into Panama and Colombia. Spend the first part of this wonderful twoweek 

holiday island-hopping between Caribbean gems. Visit the ‘spice island’ of 

Grenada; relax on Aruba’s jaw-dropping beaches; and snorkel the colourful reefs and 

crystal clear waters of Bonaire. There’s an overnight stay in the city of Colon, where tours 

to the world-famous Panama Canal are a must. A visit to Colombia follows, where you’ll

Castries, St. Lucia 

Dominated by the soaring twin Pitons, 

St. Lucia plays host to Soufriere, a bubbling, 

wheezing volcano crater, and a series of 

beautiful botanical gardens. Visit the 

gorgeous beaches, such as Rodney Bay, 

surrounded by secluded coves and rocky islets. 

St. George’s, Grenada 

Grenada boasts 45 pristine beaches and 

numerous secluded coves waiting to be 

discovered. Known as the ‘Spice Island’, an 

aromatic blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, 

cloves, ginger and vanilla fills the air. The 

island is of volcanic origin, with a landscape 

of crater lakes, rainforests, coral reefs and 

white-sand beaches. 

Kralendijk, Bonaire MUST EXPLORE 

Bonaire’s capital, Kralendijk, lines one of the 

island’s many beaches with lovely stucco 

houses, in pastel shades of pink, green and 

blue. Visit the Washington Slagbaai National 

Park, home to flamingos, iguanas and giant 

cacti, or take a water taxi to the nearby 

uninhabited island of Klein Bonaire, to relax 

on the gorgeous white-sand beach. 

Oranjestad, Aruba 

Oranjestad’s Dutch colonial heritage can be 

seen in the vividly coloured buildings which 

line the waterfront and mirror those in 

Amsterdam. Visit the island’s Butterfly Farm, 

see the Natural Bridge of Aruba – carved 

from solid coral by the relentless pounding 

Cartagena de Indias, Colombia 

of the surf – or simply relax on the pristine 

white sandy beaches. 

Colón, Panama 

MUST EXPLORE 

Colón was at the end of the Panama Railroad, 

which was built to provide a fast route to 

California and the gold rush. Outside the city 

are the canal’s impressive Gatún Locks and 

Gatún Dam. About half an hour away is the 

Fort San Lorenzo; it’s a well-preserved 

reminder of when this was at the heart 

of the Spanish Main. 

Cartagena de Indias, MUST EXPLORE 

Colombia 

The beguiling city of Cartagena positively 

flaunts its Spanish heritage in the Plaza Santo 

Domingo, Palacio de la Inquisicion, and the 

16 th century cathedral. Relax at one of the 

city’s many open-air cafés, perfect for 

watching the parade of fashionable locals 

and classic horse-drawn carriages.
