BlueEFFICIENCY in the new CLA-Class
The new CLA combines agility and dynamism with efficiency technology aimed at optimising both fuel consumption and emissions
The new CLA is equipped as standard with a raft of
measures to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
The BlueEFFICIENCY measures at a glance:
1 Ancillaries with energy-saving control (fuel, water and oil pumps),
on-demand actuation of air-conditioning compressor and
electromechanical Direct-Steer system
2 Particularly efficient alternator
3 New turbocharged petrol engines with direct injection; diesel engines
with optimised combustion. Emission class Euro 6 for petrol engines
and CLA 220 CDI
4 Excellent aerodynamics with a C d value of 0.23 (CLA 180)
5 ECO start/stop function as standard
6 ECO display to support a fuel-saving driving style as standard
7 New 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission (as an option)
8 Tyres and wheels with reduced rolling resistance
9 Intelligent weight reduction through aluminium
(front wings, bonnet and other components)
BlueEFFICIENCY makes the CLA not only more efficient,
but more aerodynamic, too. The CLA 180 BlueEFFICIENCY
Edition (expected to be available from 2 nd quarter of 2013)
attains the world’s lowest C d value for a series-production
vehicle (0.22). Measures taken to achieve this include the
lowering of the body height and the use of a radiator
shutter to allow the supply of cooling air to be adjusted in
accordance with the driving situation.
