JOB PURPOSE:<br />

The TANF Coordinator will provide a designated position which bears <strong>the</strong> primary responsibility<br />

for day to day operation and management <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> TANF grant, to include supervision <strong>of</strong> assigned<br />

staff. Must ensure compliance with <strong>the</strong> contract agreement between <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Social<br />

Services and <strong>Goodwill</strong> <strong>Industries</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Valleys</strong>.<br />

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:<br />

Develop partnerships with Area Departments <strong>of</strong> Social Services staff and o<strong>the</strong>r agencies<br />

participating in <strong>the</strong> grant.<br />

Develop relationships with area resources to enhance <strong>the</strong> outcomes for participants.<br />

Coordinate identification and assessment <strong>of</strong> eligible participants, assist with developing a<br />

plan <strong>of</strong> services for each referral and responsible for timeliness <strong>of</strong> all services.<br />

Will regularly review case records for accuracy and correctness.<br />

Will work with E&T Director in <strong>the</strong> development <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> budget and with <strong>the</strong> financial<br />

management <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> TANF programs<br />

May assist in making presentations to various community organizations and o<strong>the</strong>r vocational<br />

rehabilitation agencies.<br />

Will perform recordkeeping functions to track monthly and year to date numbers <strong>of</strong><br />

consumers receiving services.<br />

Maintain confidentiality as it pertains to consumers as per HIPAA and legal/regulatory<br />

requirements.<br />

Ensures accurate monthly billing and invoicing for program services provided to consumers.<br />

Supervise staff assigned to <strong>the</strong> program.<br />

Works directly with personnel at all levels and maintains an open door policy for those<br />

seeking assistance.<br />

Responsible for providing initial and ongoing staff training. Assures that new staff are trained<br />

and certified to provide services to consumers within thirty days <strong>of</strong> hire.<br />

Cognizant <strong>of</strong> safety and health requirements, reports/corrects violations and assists with<br />

administering CPR, first-aid, and medication as necessary. Maintains appropriate<br />

certifications in CPR, first-aid and o<strong>the</strong>r Health and Safety training as needed<br />

Maintain high ethical standards for self and staff.<br />

Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful<br />

completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mission <strong>of</strong> GIV.<br />

Experience, Competencies and Education<br />

Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or equivalent; or two to five years related experience<br />

and/or training; or equivalent combination <strong>of</strong> education and experience. Experience<br />

preferred in dealing with disabled/disadvantaged populations<br />

Ability to read, analyze and interpret <strong>the</strong> most complex documents relating to human<br />

rights. Ability to respond effectively to <strong>the</strong> most sensitive inquiries or complaints.<br />
