TURNING CONVENTION UPSIDE DOWN.
At Speedplay, we didn’t set out to improve conventional pedal designs. We knew immediately
that the only way to make a substantive leap in pedal performance was to reinvent the entire
system. So we did, and the results speak for themselves. From cleat to spindle, no other pedal
combines so many design breakthroughs into such a light, intuitive, high-performance system.
DUAL-SIDED PERFORMANCE – With our revolutionary dual-sided design, there’s no
fumbling, kicking or searching for the “right” side of the pedal. Just step down on the selflocating
cleat and you’re in.

LIGHTER WEIGHT – By locating the retention mechanism in the cleat instead of the pedal,
we were able to offer dual-sided performance without the weight of redundant mechanisms.
SECURE ENGAGEMENT – Speedplay’s true-locking retention mechanism isolates spring
tension from locking security. Entry and exit is easy, but unintentional release is virtually
impossible. And unlike plastic, the metal-to-metal contact edges of Speedplay’s engagement
mechanism ensure high-mileage durability.
KNEE-FRIENDLY FLOAT – Unlike pedals that torque your knees with self-centering spring
tension, the float in Speedplay pedals was designed to let your knees and ankles follow their
natural paths through the pedal stroke.

MICRO-ADJUSTABLE FLOAT – Speedplay Zeros and Syzr pedal systems allow rotational
float to be micro-adjusted throughout the float range or set to a fixed position. The random
rotational “slop” and ambiguous connection that pass for float in other pedals and cleats simply
can’t compare.
Zero’s two limit screws let you set the amount and angle of float, from
0° to 15°, with separate adjustments for inward and outward rotation.
MAXIMUM CLEAT ADJUSTABILITY – No other pedal system offers fore-aft, side-to-side
and rotational foot positions that can each be adjusted independently. These precise fit settings
can then be identically matched when installing replacement cleats.

In the quest for race-day performance, we pulled out all the stops and distilled the Speedplay
Zero’s race-proven design down to its explosive essence. The result is the Nanogram Zero,

Already the global standard for lightweight performance, we took the Speedplay Zero and
judiciously selected the most exotic, gram-shaving materials, including carbon fiber, titanium
and alloy, to drop weight without compromising quality or safety. The winning numbers? Just
65 grams per pedal. Even the cleats, at a mere 88 grams per pair, are 29.5 grams lighter than

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. The Speedplay Zero’s dual-sided entry allows you
to step and go without a second thought, eliminating the time-wasting fumbling, kicking and
searching you get with single-sided pedals. The Zero also takes Speedplay’s trademark float to
the next level with precision adjustment options unmatched by any other pedal design. Foreaft,
side-to-side and rotational foot positions can each be adjusted independently. And unlike
traditional one-piece cleats, each of the three critical adjustments of Zero cleats can be modified
without affecting the position of the other adjustments. The precise cleat adjustability also means
the original settings can be identically matched when replacing cleats, with no guesswork or
misalignment issues. Zero pedals come in a range of models to suit riders of all levels, from

A X/1 TITANIUM: With spindles produced in California from U.S. 6/4
grade titanium, the Speedplay X/1 combines extreme light weight –

Proper bike fit begins at the pedal, and there’s no better way to ensure proper fit than with Speedplay’s Pro Fit Case.
Through years of working with professional riders, Speedplay has perfected a fitting system to fine-tune all five critical
variables of the pedal-to-shoe connection. With the Pro Fit Case, professional fit technicians can easily evaluate and
optimize a rider’s pedal and cleat setup for range of float, fore/aft cleat placement, foot-stance width, varus and valgus
foot tilt, and leg-length discrepancy.

At Speedplay, we live for the fast lane. But we’re just as drawn to singletrack. Purpose-built to bring Speedplay’s race-proven
performance to the mountains, the Syzr Pedal is our newest off-road pedal system.
The Syzr starts with a rock-solid interface between cleat and pedal. The pedal’s forward-position latch delivers easy entry with
maximum security, while the release effort to disengage can be customized with the Syzr’s adjustable spring tension. And the
Syzr’s forward-position latch also eliminates the unintended release inherent in rear-position-latch pedal designs, where pull
force can overcome spring tension. The pedal’s open architecture sheds mud and debris, while its composite and stainless steel
construction takes hard knocks in stride.
But the real breakthrough is in the Syzr’s unique cleat design. A fixed position, or up to 10 degrees of true, rotational float is
achieved through the cleat’s ingenious, micro-adjustable pivot mechanism. The cleat’s inward and outward float-limit screws
allow precise adjustment of the float range without having to reposition the cleat on the shoe. We eliminated the typical rotational
“slop” and ambiguous connection that are often passed off as rotational float in other pedal designs. Also gone is the constant
grinding action between cleat and pedal found in every other floating pedal system.

With the Syzr cleat, your foot is positioned firmly over the center of the pedal body to prevent stancewidth
changes as you ride. The cleat’s stabilizer feet rest on the outboard edges of the pedal for
unprecedented side-to-side shoe stability and optimal power transfer. These proprietary stabilizer feet
prevent the typical lateral instability and energy loss from sole compression that plague other pedal
designs which rely on a shoe-lug-to-pedal-body connection. And the Syzr pedals are large enough to
provide a substantial pedaling platform for riding unclipped.
Speedplay Syzr pedals use precision needle and cartridge bearings for low rolling resistance and
long life. The easy-access grease port allows routine maintenance without disassembly. For maximum
versatility, Syzr pedals work with any recessed-cleat shoe that has a 2-hole mounting pattern.
For personalized performance, riders can choose between stainless steel, titanium or chrome-moly
spindles, with a range of custom-fit options. If you’re looking for the most technically advanced
performance features packaged into a high-quality lightweight pedal system, the Syzr is the pedal

The Frog takes Speedplay’s proven performance beyond the pavement, but that’s only the
beginning. Originally created as a mountain bike pedal, the Frog has also gained a loyal
following among road cyclists and commuters who prefer recessed, walkable cleats. The Frog
cleat is virtually immune to clogging because debris is pushed out the back when you engage
the pedal. The Frog is the easiest MTB pedal to engage and release, yet it holds securely over

Drillium pedal is built to handle top-to-bottom assaults. The stylish CNC-machined Drillium pedal’s slant-parallelogram design
guides your foot quickly into the optimum position, while the huge surface area provides a bigger target, more comfort and better
power transmission. The thin, concave body profile further increases support and delivers white-knuckle grip. For extra bite, there
are 20 replaceable stainless steel traction pins on each pedal. We drilled out the body to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio,
then we mounted it all on a 12mm forged alloy-steel spindle that can handle the hardest landings. At only 565g per pair,
the Drillium pedals are built to fly down the sketchiest terrain, or high above it. With its hard-anodized finish and
