VNSNY CHOICE Health Plans experienced robust growth in <strong>2011</strong>.<br />
VNSNY CHOICE Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) reached a<br />
milestone by enrolling its 10,000th member. VNSNY CHOICE MLTC is the<br />
first MLTC in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> State to achieve this result. VNSNY CHOICE MLTC<br />
was also granted approval to expand the MLTC plan in Nassau, Suffolk<br />
and Westchester Counties. Also in <strong>2011</strong>, VNSNY CHOICE Medicare grew<br />
by more than 25 percent, reaching 7,500 members.<br />

NSNY made the list <strong>of</strong> Best Companies to Work for in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> State and was<br />
ranked among the top five large nonpr<strong>of</strong>its nationwide in the Best NonPr<strong>of</strong>its to<br />
Work For competition.<br />
We opened our Haven Hospice Specialty Care Unit, a 25-bed<br />
facility devoted to in-patient hospice care for situations in which<br />
someone in home hospice care needs to be briefly hospitalized. Offering<br />
round-the-clock medical and nursing intervention for symptom relief,<br />
VNSNY Haven, located at Bellevue Hospital Center, was designed as a<br />
peaceful, therapeutic environment—far removed from the bustling Acute Care floors—and<br />
is an important resource for the program and for the patients and families it serves.<br />
VNSNY provided education, resources, tips and a vital sense <strong>of</strong><br />
community to more than 1,500 caregivers in all five boroughs and<br />
Westchester County through our popular and expanding Preventing<br />
Caregiver Burnout Seminars, co-sponsored by elected <strong>of</strong>ficials.<br />
Partners in Care opened a new home health aide training site at<br />
55 Exchange Place. The new facility has five classrooms and two<br />
laboratory rooms, adding to the nine classrooms and two labs at 1250<br />
Broadway, thus ensuring that our aides will continue to receive state<strong>of</strong>-the-art<br />
training as home health care grows and changes.
