Ideally, this is the mixture setting where peak EGT occurs, best economy occurs at a mixture strength slightly lean of stoichiometry, and best power occurs at a mixture strength rich of stoichiometry. Equivalence ratio values greater than 1 indicate mixture settings rich (more fuel for a given amount of air) of stoichiometry, and values less than 1 indicate mixture strength lean (less fuel for a given amount of air) of stoichiometry. Figures 23-26 show that peak EGT operation for ISO occurred at a slightly richer mixture than for AGE-85, and the AGE-85 produced more power at a given equivalence ratio. Figure 23.
