Scaling
The instruments are used at high power (blue code).
To be effective, the tips must be oriented tangentially to the surface
being treated and must be moved in a back-and-forth sweeping
motion without excessive lateral pressure.
Ultrasonic tips make faster scaling possible and cause less damage
to tooth surfaces than manual instruments. Numerous studies have
shown that ultrasonic treatments are 20 to 50% faster than manual
instrumentation procedures. (5, 26)
The push-pull system of the SP Newtron module provides more
efficient, homogeneous vibrations by constantly and
automatically adjusting power to the applied load. Amplitude and
power are controlled and adjusted automatically in real time
(exclusively patented to Satelec).
