Thank you for choosing the Kawana Community Hall for your upcoming Event.<br />

There are a number of important steps in securing your booking at our popular Venue. They are as<br />

follows:<br />

Step 1: Please direct all enquiries to the facilities coordinator to ensure the smooth and<br />

consistent planning of your event.<br />

Step 2: Please complete the attached Venue Hire Application Form and return at your earliest<br />

convenience. Your booking will remain tentative at this stage.<br />

Step 3: From the information you provide, we will send you an Events Sheet along with the<br />

Terms and Conditions of Use. The Events Sheet lists the requirements for your event in<br />

the venue and the associated costs. A 25% deposit amount is required within 10 days of<br />

making your booking and is requested to confirm your booking. If this is not received<br />

within 10 days, your tentative booking may be cancelled.<br />

Step 4: Full balance of venue hire fee’s and full bond payment are due within 2 weeks before<br />

your event. If this payment is not received, your booking may be cancelled.<br />

NOTE: If your event is to be held within 14 days of submitting your application, full payment of<br />

venue hire fee’s and bond is required immediately (no deposit necessary).<br />

Before returning your completed Venue Application Form please ensure you have:<br />

Read and understood the Terms and Conditions of Use<br />

Completed and signed all sections of the Booking Form<br />

Attached a copy of your Public Liability Insurance (Certificate or Currency) or Individual<br />

Insurance Cover<br />

Attached a copy of Not For Profit Certificate - required before community rate applies<br />

Attached a copy of Liquor licence / permit - if alcohol is to be sold or supplied (including<br />

complimentary alcohol)<br />

Attached any further information on extra pages<br />

Hirers who are non-commercial, not incorporated and use the venue for less than 10 days over a 12 month<br />

period are covered by LGM Queensland Additional Liability Cover (Casual Hirers). Public liability will be<br />

requested for regular users whose usage is in excess of 10 days and the hirer will need to provide a<br />

Certificate of Currency to <strong>Council</strong> specifically identifying <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Council</strong> and the Venue as<br />

“interested parties”.<br />

If you intend to sell alcohol during your event you will need to apply for a Liquor Permit. Special licensing laws<br />

apply to commercial groups. Please contact your booking officer to discuss in further detail and before applying for<br />

a Liquor Permit.<br />

Security<br />

The Venue requires licensed security guards where alcohol is being consumed or sold. The Venue will be<br />

responsible to organise and liaise with the Security Guards for your event. The hourly rate per Security Guard is:<br />

$41.25 p/ hr Weekdays $44.55 p/ hr Weekend $59.40 p/ hr Public Holiday<br />
