<strong>2005</strong>.<br />
As at 31 December <strong>2005</strong> and 2004, the <strong>Bank</strong> has 30% shareholding in N.Y. Sugar Co., Ltd. as a result of debt<br />
restructuring. The <strong>Bank</strong> intends to hold such investment on a temporary basis and does not have significant<br />
involvement in management of this company. Therefore, the <strong>Bank</strong> does not treat such company as its associated<br />
company and has not accounted for it using the equity accounting method.<br />
8.6 Investments in unit trusts in which the <strong>Bank</strong> and its subsidiaries hold more than 10% of the paid-up<br />
capital, excluding investments in subsidiaries and associated companies, classified by type of fund,<br />
