History<br />
Living<br />
2000 <strong>Charltons</strong> was granted the Royal Warrant for the supply<br />
of gates and timber to the Royal households, <strong>Charltons</strong> still hold the<br />
Warrant and has now supplied the Royal Households for over 15 years.<br />
1929, Anthony James Charlton was<br />
born, later to become Chief Executive.<br />
1995 <strong>Charltons</strong> start retailing furniture.<br />
1910 - <strong>Charltons</strong> supply timber<br />
pit props to the nearby coal mines.<br />
2002 <strong>Charltons</strong> start concentrating on<br />
wholesaling a collection of Oak furniture.<br />
1980 <strong>Charltons</strong> starts making hand<br />
made furniture from English Oak.<br />
1903 Frank Charlton established<br />
<strong>Charltons</strong> when he made the<br />
decision to diversify from farming<br />
to hauling timber.<br />
1923 – <strong>Charltons</strong> purchase a coal<br />
business, which made return trips from<br />
the pit heads more profitable.<br />
Today <strong>Charltons</strong> remains<br />
a family company with the<br />
fourth generation very much<br />
the ‘heart and soul’ of the<br />
modern organisation.<br />
<strong>Fairbank</strong>s – A collection crafted from 100% solid oak and carefully designed with<br />
straight lines to offer a clean and contemporary look. This collection offers pieces to cater for<br />
every lifestyle from traditional country living to modern city apartments. All the oak used has<br />
been carefully selected to ensure the natural beauty and character of the timber is at its best,<br />
each piece is then hand finished with a specialist oil that offers the best protection.<br />
