<strong>C604G</strong>R <strong>GPON</strong> <strong>ONT</strong><br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s (optical network<br />
terminal) <strong>C604G</strong> and <strong>C604G</strong>R<br />
are versatile, high-speed optical<br />
<strong>GPON</strong> modems for the connection<br />
with the OLTs MileGate<br />
2820 and MileGate 2880.<br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s provide the subscriber<br />
interfaces for homes and small<br />
offices in FTTH/FTTB applications<br />
via passive optical networks<br />
(PON). Both come with<br />
four Ethernet ports for highspeed<br />
Internet and VoIP telephones<br />
and IPTV devices. In<br />
addition the <strong>C604G</strong>R offers a RF<br />
video port for legacy Cable-TV<br />
signals.<br />
■ Cost-effective Triple Play<br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s are the efficient and<br />
cost-effective solution to provide<br />
reliable Triple Play services via<br />
optical fibres in PON architectures.<br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s are designed for<br />
indoor installation and can be<br />
mounted easily at indoor walls or<br />
can be unsed as desktop devices.<br />
■ Interfaces<br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s provide four Fast-Ethernet<br />
ports (10/100/1000BaseT)<br />
for connecting PCs and laptops<br />
for high-speed Internet access<br />
with up to 100 Mbps. In addition<br />
VoIP telephones can also be<br />
connected to the Ethernet ports.<br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s support extensive<br />
functions for interactive IPTV<br />
services.
■ Functions<br />
The <strong>ONT</strong>s support various<br />
Quality-of-Service functions. The<br />
extensive management enables<br />
network operators to locate<br />
errors quickly. Furthermore the<br />
<strong>ONT</strong>s provide safety mechanisms<br />
to protect subscribers from illegal<br />
access from hackers.<br />
■ CATV overlay (only <strong>C604G</strong>R)<br />
In addition the <strong>ONT</strong> <strong>C604G</strong>R<br />
provides a RF video port. Using<br />
an extra wavelength, the integrated<br />
wavelength multiplexer<br />
distributes the cable television<br />
signal.<br />
Technical <strong>Data</strong><br />
At the customer side in the CPE,<br />
the cable TV signal is converted<br />
back into a separate, electric<br />
signal again. This signal can be<br />
fed directly into the existing<br />
coaxial wiring in the house or<br />
apartment, supplying the entire<br />
household with analogue and<br />
digital cable television.<br />

provide web-based management<br />
functions for easy and quick<br />
operations and efficient maintenance.<br />
By connecting the <strong>ONT</strong>s with the<br />
MileGate 2880 or the MileGate<br />
2820 <strong>GPON</strong> OLT, the OMCI<br />
interface (<strong>ONT</strong> Management and<br />
Control Interface) according to<br />
ITU-T G.984.4 is supported.<br />
