reBord of one or two classes. Claeses is a list of nares of those<br />

comprising <strong>the</strong> saveral classes of a church.<br />

only & auch dating is not assumed <strong>to</strong> be exact.<br />

In <strong>the</strong> early days, records were also kept for <strong>the</strong> entire church in<br />

<strong>the</strong> city. lowever, in agreement with paragraph X1. <strong>the</strong>se specific<br />

records preceded <strong>the</strong> General <strong>Records</strong>.<br />

Obituaries rill occasionally be found in those volumes containing<br />

an his<strong>to</strong>rical or pas<strong>to</strong>rical record.<br />

Officials, being appointed by tha proper Quarterly Conference,<br />

may ba found in <strong>the</strong> Minutes of <strong>the</strong> body, if no separate list ia<br />

available.<br />

new volume with a new pas<strong>to</strong>r or a new recorder, and thus <strong>the</strong> resulting<br />

necessity of copying <strong>the</strong> old records in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> new.<br />

We Circuits were created in 1832, hmfwhkch before <strong>the</strong>re were no<br />

record. for ei<strong>the</strong>r Eaet or West Circuit. Later separate records<br />

appeared, although some of <strong>the</strong> bodies (see # 9B p. 9) continued<br />

meeting jointly for some years after <strong>the</strong> division.
