Until now, proofing has been a major
struggle for flexo printing. Traditional
offset proofing does not match flexo
printing, and flexo printing was not
sufficiently stable to take advantage of
a reference color proof.

Kodak Approval System accurately
builds and predicts flexo color and onpress
imaging characteristics, providing
a contract-quality proof you can quickly
match on press with confidence.

With so many variables involved,
working with flexo printing color is not
easy. Process and spot colors (often
overprinting each other), laydown order,
substrate, highlight dot control and
varying tone reproduction curves all
complicate the job. You can’t afford to
overlook any of these factors and just
hope for the best at press time. The
Kodak Approval System builds color like
a press, accurately capturing all press
variables and providing you with a
contract-quality proof you can trust.

provides an accurate advance look—

prior to burning and mounting a set of
plates. Approval System proofs can
be quickly matched on a press running
Kodak Flexcel NX Plates. This winning
combination maximizes prepress
efficiency and minimizes makeready to
reach stable (and profitable) printing.

making and proofing system—a professionally

Proof on your own substrate
Accept no imitations. The underlying
substrate influences color, appearance
and feel. A genuine packaging proof
must be rendered on the actual substrate
material used to print the final package.
The Kodak Approval System provides
you with the full flexibility to proof on
your own packaging substrate, including
a wide range of poly films, folding carton
stock, foils, shrink wraps, rigid plastics,
metallics and others.

Spot colors
You can count on the Approval System
to show actual spot colors as their own
true color separations, with screening
and dot characteristics just as they
will appear on press. Go ahead and
view an Approval System proof with
magnification—you can trust what
you see.
White and metallic colors—

Modern package and label designs

colors—not only basic silver and gold
but a wide range of metallic accents
and backgrounds. The Kodak Approval
