Location
Since its founding as a railroad town in 1905, Las Vegas has grown to become one

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, one of three non-gaming boutique hotels at
CityCenter, includes 392 rooms, 225 residences, a fitness center and spa, retail
amenities and on-site parking.

Entry
Unlike typical Las Vegas Strip hotels, which are set back from the street and entered
through a grand porte-cochere, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is oriented such that
the building meets the boulevard, becoming a visual gateway to CityCenter while
internalizing the entry experience, providing guests with a sense of seclusion.
Sky Lobby
The arrival experience at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas has been elevated, literally, as
express shuttle elevators deliver guests to the sky lobby on the 23rd floor, bypassing
the usual ground floor check-in. From the sky lobby, restaurants and the Mandarin
Bar and Lounge, guests enjoy unparalleled views of CityCenter, the Strip and beyond.

Façade
The façade of Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, inspired by traditional Chinese motifs, is
a layered interlocking pattern of vertical aluminum panels and glass with horizontal
frit. From the interior, the frit provides various levels of transparency, allowing for
open, naturally illuminated spaces in public areas and shaded, screened areas where
more privacy is desired.
Materials
The use of distinctive materials at the podium, including zinc, titanium, granite,
and limestone, complemented by the metal panels and glass of the tower façade,
contributes to the unique character of Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas. The crystalfinished
titanium, in particular, while both elegant and environmentally-friendly,
also boasts the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal, enabling it to
withstand the corrosion and fading normally caused by pollution and the intensity
of the desert sun.

Sustainability
Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is designed to withstand the heat of the desert. To
achieve this, KPF’s design team carefully considered the building’s site orientation
and specified a high-performance façade to increase the energy performance of the
building while enhancing indoor environmental quality and overall user experience.
LEED Gold Certified, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is designed with numerous
sustainable features including: high-performance, low-emissivity glass; super-insulated
spandrel panels; a super-efficient central plant; a smart room control system; daylighting
and day-lighting controls; a green power procurement program; storm water
capturing; low-VOC finishes and recycled materials; and reduced-flow water fixtures.
