CARVA is a solid wooden range for the living room and dining room which sets new 

standards with regard to its craftsmanship, natural look and planning capabilities. 

High-quality solid woods and highly intricate, craftsmanlike milled sections on the fronts and 

handle grips as well as the box-shaped panels on the hinge-doors and drawers unify design 

and craftsmanship in CARVA. 

The single units can be combined with colour-touch lacquer surfaces which have been 

refined with a variety of wood components to give the furniture a particularly modern, warm 

and homogenous surface structure. 

Top glass sections on the single units and innovative LED rear wall and handle lamps 

highlight the units quite beautifully. The feel of the solid wood is further underlined by the 

intricate workmanship on the surfaces: 

hülsta-EverNatural 

The surface is refined using the hülsta-EverNatural treatment system. hülsta-EverNatural is 

an innovative lacquer from hülsta which conserves the naturally graceful appearance of the 

wood and protects it like a lacquer. The look and feel of these fine wood surfaces retain their 

natural beauty. The protective effect is markedly greater than that achieved by any other 

waxed or oiled surface. What is more, this effect is retained over long periods. It is easy to 

care for and odour-free. It protects the surfaces against greying, makes them particularly 

robust and also reduces surface soiling. 

Planning principle 

By means of a highly developed side-panel system with a large number of different sidepanel 

heights and depths as well as shelf widths, CARVA allows you to create living room 

wall combinations which solve every furnishing problem. Enhanced by various practical 

features such as sliding-doors with satinised, rear-lacquered glass or hinge-doors lined with 

Nappa leather, it is possible to give every living room wall unit its own individual look. 

Side-panels and shelves are fitted using invisible connecting brackets. 

Besides living room wall combinations, CARVA also provides a number of attractive single 

units which can be integrated in living room combinations but can also be used as highly 

expressive solo units in their own right.

Important notes: Fittings for wall mounting are provided with nearly all the units which should be used for your own safety and 

for constructional reasons. The assembly materials supplied by hülsta (plugs, screws) are only suitable for fitting components on 

to concrete and/or solid walls. Ideally, one should inquire about the soundness of the walls with regard to their suitability for 

mounting units when orders are placed and be sure to check them later before mounting any units. If any surfaces are not suitable 

for mounting units (e.g. plastered or lighter wall materials), one should use another method better suited to the material on site.

Sliding-door cushioning: The sliding-doors are always cushioned at the runners 

ends. If 2 (or more) sliding-doors are fitted next to one another between 

the runners, there is no cushioning between the sliding-doors. If cushioning is 

required between 2 glass sliding-doors, centre cushioning units must be fitted. 

The sliding-door centre cushioning unit can be included in fitted wooden shelves 

which are wider than 47.1 cm. 

Ceiling-high side-panel with ceiling bracket (up to max. 270.8 cm) – 2.9 cm 

thick; 27.0 or 36.4 cm deep (incl. 1.5 cm high plinth legs). Please allow 3.0 cm 

assembly space to the ceiling and to the side in each project! For ceiling-high 

side-panels: please state the exact ceiling height! 

Height reductions of ceiling-high side-panels (max. 266.8 cm) down to 196.4 cm 

without surcharge. 

Inside corner slat for 90° corner solution with corner shelves, ceiling-high up 

to max. 266.8 cm. Please state side-panel height or exact ceiling height! 

Wall side-panels – 2.9 cm thick; 27.0 or 36.4 cm deep. Please allow 3.0 cm

section is always in a standard BlackMagic glass. 

Wall shelf –2.9 cm thick, 22.0 cm deep; for fitting anywhere on wall; 

integrated power LED spotlamp – for fitting in highboards, cabinets, wall 

shelves, fitted shelves for floor side-panels; 12 V, 3 W 

Intermediate side-panel –2.9 cm thick; 27.0 or 36.4 cm deep. Fitted between 

2 fitted wooden shelves or fitted wooden shelves and lowboards or single units. 

Niche rear walls –1-11 Raster high, 1.1 cm thick, can be fitted between 

side-panels (rear walls are already included when planning hinge-doors for 

side-panels). Fitted shelves can be placed anywhere. Niche rear walls with 

all-round brush seal! Space required: 2.7 cm. 

Niche rear walls optionally in white lacquer, cocoa lacquer, alder or natural

Runners for glass sliding-doors 


The sliding-doors are fitted on runners that have to be ordered separately (see below) in front of a full-length row of shelves. The runners are full-length up to 449.5 cm, runners 

longer than 449.5 cm are split. Please state in front of which side-panel columns the sliding-doors are to be fitted. Two (or more) sliding-doors can also be fitted on top of one 

another. In this case, 1 (or more) extra intermediate runners have to be ordered besides the standard set of runners (top and bottom). If the runners are required in a special length, 

please order the next longest runner size. This is then shortened at no extra charge. Please state the exact runner length in the order! Drawers and hinge-doors can be fitted behind 

sliding-doors. 

Sliding-door cushioning: The sliding-doors are always cushioned at the runners ends. If 2 (or more) sliding-doors are fitted next to one another between the runners, there is no

Magic-Tronic 


The lamps are normally operated by an external footswitch. As an alternative we can also provide a Magic-Tronic switch, which is charged extra. By “stroking” the outer or top 

side of the unit at the same level as the invisible integrated sensor it is possible to switch all the lamps on and off (“Stroking method”). As an alternative the position of the hidden 

sensor can also be marked with a small metal plate on the furniture unit (“Marking method”). Lamps with a maximum power of 200 W can be operated by a Magic-Tronic unit 

(230 V). The footswitch is omitted when a Magic-Tronic unit is included. 

Please be sure to observe the information and notes regarding the assembly position given in the chapter “Switch options for lamps”! 

Remote control unit 

The lamps are normally operated by an external footswitch. As an alternative we can also provide a 4-channel remote control unit (= transmitter), which is charged extra. Several 

lights (up to a total load of max 400 W per channel) can be switched on and off with each of the 4 channels. It is also possible to switch all channels on and off simultaneously 

with the "all on" or "all off" buttons. Up to 4 receivers can be operated with one remote control unit. Transmitters and receivers must be ordered separately. The footswitch is 

omitted when the remote control unit is employed.

Operating method: 

The automatic cut-off is an automatic break in the current for several units. Connect any media 

unit with an ON/OFF switch to the main socket and the other units to the switchable sockets. The 

device goes into operation on connecting the main unit. The electronics are activated by pressing 

the switch. If the unit connected to the main socket is not switched on within 35 seconds, the 

automatic cut-off comes into operation electronically. 

Example: A TV set is connected to the main socket and the peripheral units such as video recorders, 

DVD players, home cinema units or satellite receivers are connected to the extra sockets. 

When you switch on the TV set, all peripheral units are switched on automatically. You can use the 

permanent current socket for units which require permanent current (fax, telephone, hard disk
