Pebble Beach: Woman reported someone is going through the bags of garbage she is putting in her trash can. No suspect information. Carmel area: Resident reported a male was running his dog alongside a scooter, causing a traffic hazard. The male was contacted and informed of the leash law and the traffic issue. Pebble Beach: Victim reported her locked vehicle was broken into via window smash on Oct. 26 between 0845 and 0945 hours. Vehicle was ransacked but nothing taken. Nothing of value had been left in the vehicle. No suspect information. Big Sur: Man reported the theft of a pair of pants from the campsite. Also taken was his California Driver License, which was in a pocket of the pants. No suspects. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28 Carmel-by-the-Sea: A protest took place Details... on Camino Real and Eighth at La Playa Hotel involving approximately 100 participants. The protesters blocked the roadway and access to the hotel. After being warned, 16 protesters were arrested and cited for blocking the roadway. The remaining protestors left without incident. Carmel area: CPD units responded to a domestic dispute. Jane Doe told sheriff’s deputies her husband had punched her twice in the face and several more times in the shoulder and back area of her body with a closed fist. He was arrested for domestic violence. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance called to the scene for a patient with trauma to her eye after a physical disturbance. Patient refused to be transported to the hospital. Pacific Grove: Officers dispatched to a physical domestic fight in progress. Suspect fled upon seeing the officers and was later located in Seaside. Female victim assaulted on three separate occasions. Pacific Grove: Driver arrested for driving without a license and for delaying peace officers during arrest. Pacific Grove: Found box of old slides from the 1950s. Carmel area: Person called to report four unidentified males were in the neighborhood soliciting work and possibly casing houses. Carmel area: Woman reported leaving her wallet and contents at a business. When she returned 20 minutes later, it was not there. Carmel Valley: Unknown person(s) hacked victim’s computer and attempted to obtain money from victim’s customers/friends via a false email. Creative. Informed. Respectful. Perspicacious. Discreet. The parties were apologetic when deputies arrived and stated they would settle their differences in a more civil way. Carmel Valley: Subject turned in a lost phone found at the Mid Valley Center Safeway. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 Carmel-by-the-Sea: Subject reported the loss of a necklace with pendant while patronizing shops in Carmel Plaza. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Contact was made with the victim of a previously reported hitand-run after unsuccessful attempts to locate the suspect driver/vehicle. Driver reported that he has already filed a claim with his insurance company, and his vehicle has already been fixed. Driver requested no further investigation. Carmel-by-the-Sea: A 30-year-old male driver was stopped on Ocean Avenue for a DUI investigation and subsequently arrested for DUI. He provided a breath test and was later released on a citation to his girlfriend. Vehicle released at scene to the registered owner. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance dispatched to a thrift shop on Carmel Rancho for a female not feeling well — syncope. Patient transported Code 2 to CHOMP. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance dispatched to Cypress Drive for a male who had fallen and broken arm. Patient transported Code 2 to CHOMP. Pacific Grove: Individual reported that an unknown vandal had scratched initials into his windshield. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30 . Carmel-by-the-Sea: A loose dog was found on San Carlos Street. The owner was contacted by telephone via ID found on the collar. The owner was out of town; assistance given to owner and person caring for the dog. The dog had escaped by breaking through the fence where it was recently repaired. The dog was secured inside the house, and a warning was given. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Man left a stroller at a restaurant. Carmel-by-the-Sea: A Mountain View resident reported a dog howling and was unsure if the dog needed help. Officer responded and found the dog to be lonely but healthy. He had food, water, and shelter. The owner was later contacted, and followup was conducted with regards to licensing matter. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Man reported loss of a digital camera while patronizing Carmel Plaza. Carmel-by-the-Sea: A window was smashed by a San Antonio Avenue hotel guest due to his not having his hotel key. The hotel manager was contacted, and a civil agreement was made to pay for the window Carmel-by-the-Sea: Wallet found on the pedestrian walkway on Scenic was turned over to CPD for safekeeping pending return to the owner. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Person reported capturing a loose dog in the City of Carmel. Dog was taken into custody and brought to station for safekeeping. Unsuccessful efforts were made to locate the owner. At approximately 2310 hours, the dog owner came to the station in an effort to look for his lost dog. Owner was given a warning, and the kennel fees were waived due to extenuating circumstances. Owner was also advised to contact the microchip company to have his information updated. Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine dispatched to Lincoln and Seventh for an alarm activation. Alarm activated by heat from fireplace. Big Sur: Subject was involved in a vehicle accident on the Big Sur South Coast near the 17-mile marker. The driver rolled his vehicle over, then exited the vehicle. The subject then walked to edge of the roadway and fell down a 50-foot embankment. Local agencies worked together to bring him back to the roadside, where he was then transported to the hospital. Big Sur: Two hikers were lost in Los Padres National Forest. They were located by rescue personnel and transported out of the forest.
