We have studied the <strong>in</strong>fluence of orange citrus variety on the fecundity of three diaspidid<br />
(Homoptera, Diaspididae) species. The considered scale species were Cornuaspis beckii and<br />
Parlatoria pergandii. Twenty-seven samples were taken from two orchards, one of Navel<br />
Lanelate and another of Valencia Late. Per sample, the egg number <strong>in</strong> 30 gravid females was<br />
counted. Eggs were clasified <strong>in</strong>to three categories: pre-lay<strong>in</strong>g, lay<strong>in</strong>g and hatch<strong>in</strong>g eggs. Three<br />
methods were undertaken to show the variety <strong>in</strong>fluence. 1) Two types of ANOVA, one-way<br />
(variety as factor) and two-way (variety and observation as factors). In both analyses, the<br />
factor variety was significant (P
