The Careers Service <strong>of</strong>fers support and<br />

advice to students in a confidential and<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional manner. Our aim is to facilitate<br />

students to obtain employment or explore<br />

further study.<br />

Support and advice is available on such<br />

issues as:<br />

• Career Planning<br />

• CV and Letter Preparation<br />

• Interview Techniques<br />

• Presentation Skills<br />

• Further Study<br />

• Employment Opportunities<br />

The Careers Service advertises graduate<br />

opportunities, job vacancies and general<br />

careers information on the Careers<br />

Noticeboard(s) and on the <strong>Institute</strong>’s<br />

website at www.itb.ie.<br />

ITB HEALTH CENTRE<br />

Located first floor, Block C<br />

The <strong>Institute</strong> has a fully equipped<br />

medical centre on campus which <strong>of</strong>fers<br />

a comprehensive health service to all<br />

students. A full nursing service is available<br />

Monday – Friday 9.15am to 5.00pm<br />

throughout the academic year. It is not<br />

necessary to make an appointment to see<br />

the nurse. There is a doctor on campus<br />

twice a week; it is necessary to make an<br />

appointment to see the doctor (via the<br />

nurse). Arrangements have been made with<br />

local doctors for students located <strong>of</strong>f the<br />

main campus, e.g. in the Botanic Gardens.<br />

The emphasis in the student health centre<br />

is on preventative medicine and healthy<br />

lifestyles. A range <strong>of</strong> educational and<br />

informative workshops and seminars are<br />

organised throughout the year for students<br />

and staff.<br />

Careers Office [Room C112 – first floor in<br />

Block C) between 10.00am and 12.30pm on<br />

Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Appointments<br />

for one-to-one discussions can be arranged<br />

All services in the student health centre<br />

are free <strong>of</strong> charge and totally confidential.<br />

No information will be divulged to any<br />

third party without the prior consent <strong>of</strong> the<br />

student. <strong>Students</strong> are requested to inform<br />

the Student Health Centre <strong>of</strong> any chronic<br />

illnesses at registration.<br />

Horticulture <strong>Students</strong> can avail <strong>of</strong> tetanus<br />

vaccine from the medical practice associated<br />

with the college. The full cost <strong>of</strong> the GP visit<br />

plus the tetanus vaccine will be covered by the<br />

ITB Medical Centre on production <strong>of</strong> a receipt.
