SECURITY PASS APPLICATION INFORMATION Issue of Passes All passes must be applied for by the sponsor of their relevant company/undertaking by completing an Application form for a Security Pass. The relevant documents that may be used to confirm the referencing periods may be downloaded by clicking on the relevant links shown in blue. The following must be supplied for each application: TEMPORARY PASS 1 - 5 day Temporary Pass • Application for a Security Pass form signed by the sponsor. • Photo evidence of his/her identity to be presented at the time of ID issue. (Acceptable identification listed below). 6 - 60 day Temporary Pass • Application for a Security Pass form signed by the sponsor. • Supporting letter from sponsor detailing the reasons for an extended pass. • Photo evidence of his/her identity to be presented at the time of ID issue. (Acceptable identification listed below). FULL PASS • Application for a Security Pass form signed by the sponsor. • Criminal Record Check (CRC) Basic Disclosure Certificate. • General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) Certificate. • Preceding 5-year Employment History. • Preceding 5-year Personal Character Reference. • Completed Security Pass Application Check Sheet. • Photo Evidence of His/Her Identity (to be presented at the time of ID issue). Application for a Security Pass An Application for a Security Pass form must be complete and be signed by the sponsor confirming the date(s) for which the pass is required and the access areas considered relevant to the applicant. Criminal Record Check (CRC) Certificate Evidence of criminal convictions shall be obtained in the form of a Basic Disclosure Certificate issued by Disclosure Scotland please see www.disclosurescotland.co.uk for the online process. This process normally takes up to three weeks for receipt of the CRC. The certificate shall be valid when presented no more than ten weeks from the date on which it was issued. Certain exemptions apply to security staff, border agencies and the Police service. General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) Certificate A GSAT Certificate shall be provided as confirmation that the applicant has successfully completed GSAT within the five year period immediately preceding the date on which the pass will become valid. Providers of GSAT Training may be found on the Department for Transport website www.dft.gov.uk (GSAT in the search box). Jersey Airport currently uses Redline Aviation Security Ltd and their online course which may be accessed via www.quadratica.co.uk . Exemptions apply to certain groups of staff that have undergone enhanced training and are listed in SDAM 1/09. Version:- JAIN01 – Mar 10 Page 2 of 4
SECURITY PASS APPLICATION INFORMATION Preceding 5-year Employment History Confirmation of Employment, Training and Education are required to establish the relevant dates that were attended during the preceding 5 years of the application (or back to age 16) and the suitability of the applicant. In the case of applicants who were self employed, either wholly or in part, verification shall be obtained from independent accountants, solicitors or confirmation from the Comptroller of Income Tax. Gaps of more than 28 days between employment require the Gaps in Employment, Training or Education Record being verified by a personal character referee as to what the applicant was doing during that time. Preceding 5-year Personal Character Reference At least one Personal Character Reference to confirm that the applicant has been well known to the referee over the preceding 5 years and is believed to be trusted, of good character and is responsible in order to be provided access to Restricted or Controlled areas of Jersey Airport. Completed Security Pass Application Check Sheet A completed Security Pass Application Check Sheet is to be attached to the rear of the Application for a Security Pass form. This check sheet confirms the dates plus details the business referees and personal referees that have been submitted to support their application. Photo Evidence of His/Her Identity Photographic evidence to be presented at the time of ID issue. Acceptable original identification documents are as follows: • A valid full ten-year British passport. • A valid Jersey, Guernsey or UK photo Driving Licence. • A valid full EU Member state passport, Swiss passport or National ID Card. • In the case of all other nationals including Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria – a full passport is required together with an original Immigration document confirming the right to be in Jersey and also evidence of the right to work. • Approved Director of Civil Aviation (DCA) for Jersey, Department for Transport (DfT) or Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) pass. Re-issue of a Security Pass A Security Pass Re-issue Form may be used if applicant’s details are already held in the Jersey Airport ID system for the following specific reasons: • Issue of Temporary Pass: (1 day to max 5 days) • Issue of Temporary Pass: (6 days to max 60 days) Must be accompanied by sponsors supporting letter • Extension of current Full Pass: (Up to maximum of 5 years from application and CRC issue date) • Change of Access Area to: RED, BLUE or GREEN (If already holding CRC & GSAT Certification) • Change of Position/Job Title: (Within the same business) • Change of name: (Copy of Marriage Certificate or Deed Poll to be attached) • Re-issue of Lost Security Pass: (Penalty charges apply • Revalidate swipe access: Version:- JAIN01 – Mar 10 Page 3 of 4
