5. Participation<br />

This <strong>European</strong> <strong>Cup</strong> Juniors is open for all EJU/IJF Mem<strong>be</strong>r Federations. There is no limit <strong>in</strong> the<br />

num<strong>be</strong>r of participation for each weight category for every federation. The competitors must <strong>be</strong><br />

of the same nationality as the national federation, which enters them.<br />

In case a Federation or a club registers an athlete with a different Nationality, a confirmation<br />

letter from the National Federation of the country of which the Athlete holds the passport should<br />

<strong>be</strong> presented dur<strong>in</strong>g the accreditation.<br />

In order for an athlete to obta<strong>in</strong> po<strong>in</strong>ts for the EJU Rank<strong>in</strong>g List, his/her weight category should<br />

have participants from at least 2 different countries. If this is not the case, the competition can<br />

still <strong>be</strong> held, accord<strong>in</strong>g to the organiser’s decision, but the organizer will <strong>in</strong>form immediately the<br />

NF concerned.<br />

6. Application & Deadl<strong>in</strong>es<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g to EJU rules Jumas <strong>in</strong>scription is obligatory. Participants must <strong>be</strong> registered <strong>in</strong> Jumas,<br />

otherwise they will face a late entry fee of € 30 per participant.<br />

The deadl<strong>in</strong>e is Monday July 29 2013.<br />

Participants without a valid EJU Jumas mem<strong>be</strong>rship have to pay a € 30 penalty per participant.<br />

Jumas mem<strong>be</strong>rship must then <strong>be</strong> ordered through the federation.<br />

9. Weigh-<strong>in</strong><br />

Weigh In for each weight category shall <strong>be</strong> held the even<strong>in</strong>g <strong>be</strong>fore the competition day. For<br />

Statistical proposes, a weigh-<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> judogi will operated <strong>in</strong> the morn<strong>in</strong>g of competition dur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

judogi control, prior to the first fight.<br />

Athletes must present accreditation card and his/her passport (National ID Card<br />

show<strong>in</strong>g nationality and date of birth are also accepted).<br />

10. Competition Mode<br />

The competition will <strong>be</strong> carried out accord<strong>in</strong>g to the rules and sport<strong>in</strong>g codes of the IJF and EJU.<br />

The new test<strong>in</strong>g rules approved for a period until the WC Rio de Janeiro 2013 will <strong>be</strong> applied.<br />

Competition systems accord<strong>in</strong>g to num<strong>be</strong>r of participants:<br />

6 and more entries: Double repechage<br />

3,4,5 entries: Round rob<strong>in</strong><br />

2 entries: <strong>be</strong>tter of 2 fights, if 1-1 the third match will decide<br />

11. Draw<br />

Seed<strong>in</strong>g of the top 4 competitors <strong>in</strong> each weight category accord<strong>in</strong>g to the EJU Junior RL. There<br />

will <strong>be</strong> no separation by nation with<strong>in</strong> the seeded athletes <strong>in</strong> case there are 2 of the same<br />

nationality.<br />

The draw will take place on Friday at 20:30hrs <strong>in</strong> Hotel Holiday Inn.<br />

Each delegation must <strong>be</strong> represented at the draw (maximum two officials).<br />

Dress code: Jacket suit with tie.<br />

12. Referee<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Each federation should br<strong>in</strong>g an IJF/Cont<strong>in</strong>ental licensed referee and may enter a maximum of 2<br />

referees. The organiz<strong>in</strong>g federation may enter as many referees as required for the realization of<br />

the tournament. The requirement <strong>in</strong> referee<strong>in</strong>g is at least the highest national license and some<br />

years of experience as a referee.<br />

The referee meet<strong>in</strong>g will <strong>be</strong> held on Saturday 3rd August 2013 at 09:00hrs at Sportforum Foyer<br />

Northl. The attendance to the Referee meet<strong>in</strong>g is strictly compulsory. The referees should <strong>be</strong><br />

dressed formally for this meet<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

13. Coach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

All coaches must fully adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judo Coaches.<br />

14. Judogi<br />

Approved Judogi<br />

All Judoka must compete <strong>in</strong> IJF Approved Judogi (white and blue judogi are obligatory) - see<br />

official suppliers on the EJU website.<br />

Judogi Control<br />

Judogi control accord<strong>in</strong>g to Sokuteki rule.<br />

Mark<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

Judogi mark<strong>in</strong>gs must <strong>be</strong> <strong>in</strong> accordance with the EJU regulations. The space on the shoulder<br />

stripes can <strong>be</strong> only used by the EJU Suppliers. Advertis<strong>in</strong>g on the arms (10cm x 10cm on both<br />

right and left side) can <strong>be</strong> used by federations and their Judoka as usual for their own <strong>be</strong>nefit.<br />

Backnum<strong>be</strong>r<br />

Each competitor tak<strong>in</strong>g part <strong>in</strong> the EJU events is obliged to have sewn on the back of his judogi<br />

the official backnum<strong>be</strong>r (both EJU and IJF are allowed) <strong>be</strong>ar<strong>in</strong>g his surname and his National<br />

Olympic Committee abbreviation. The backnum<strong>be</strong>r can <strong>be</strong> ordered from www.ijfbacknum<strong>be</strong>r.com<br />

or www.mybacknum<strong>be</strong>r.com (Attention: production and delivery takes around 4 weeks).<br />

The SPONSOR part (if needed) will <strong>be</strong> given to the head of delegation dur<strong>in</strong>g registration, and<br />

the athletes can stick it themselves us<strong>in</strong>g the special glue on the back num<strong>be</strong>r.<br />

If the Judogi of the athlete does not comply with all the specifications of the EJU and<br />

the IJF, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the Backnum<strong>be</strong>r, the athlete will <strong>be</strong> disqualified from the<br />

tournament.<br />

15. Transport<br />

Airport: Berl<strong>in</strong> Schönefeld Airport, Berl<strong>in</strong> Tegel International Airport<br />

The organizer will provide transfers <strong>be</strong>tween Airports and the Holiday Inn Hotel and the Holiday<br />

Inn Hotel and competition venue. Transportation will <strong>be</strong> offered only to those participants who<br />

are accommodated <strong>in</strong> the official hotel. Participat<strong>in</strong>g National Federations are responsible for<br />

their own travel to Berl<strong>in</strong>/GER.<br />

18. Responsibility of Federations<br />

The competitors will compete under the full responsibility of their federations. Insurance: Each<br />

national federation is responsible for <strong>in</strong>sur<strong>in</strong>g its competitors aga<strong>in</strong>st “<strong>in</strong>jury and third part risk<br />

(public liability)” dur<strong>in</strong>g the period of the championships. The <strong>European</strong> Judo Union and German<br />

Judo Federation decl<strong>in</strong>e all responsibility.<br />

19. Media<br />

AIPS licence holders can apply for Media accreditation at the Competition Hall on 3 August 2013<br />

20. Visa<br />

For nations who need VISA to enter Germany, please send the enclosed “Visa Application Form”<br />
