2011 <strong>Australia</strong>n Youth Showjumping Festival<br />

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY & CATEGORY EXPLANATIONS.<br />

FEI International Children’s Competition Gold Tour (Category A): Riders are eligible to<br />

compete in this class from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 12 until the end<br />

of the calendar year in which they reach 14 years. Maximum height in this category 1.20m.<br />

FEI International Children’s Competition Silver Tour (Category B): Riders are eligible to<br />

compete in this category until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 14. Maximum<br />

height in this category 1.10m.<br />

FEI International Children’s Competition Bronze Tour (Category C): Riders are eligible to<br />

compete in this category until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 14. Maximum<br />

height in this category 1 metre.<br />

YOU CAN ONLY COMPETE IN ONE FEI TOUR/CATEGORY. You can compete on two horses in<br />

one category. A horse may only compete in one category. You must nominate which horse will<br />

be counted for the FEI Final.<br />

MEDICATION CONTROL: Swabbing will be done on FEI classes and possibly other classes<br />

throughout the competition<br />

CATEGORIES<br />

Junior: A rider is a “Junior” until the end of the calendar year in which he/she reaches the age<br />

of 18 years. (EFA Addendum to FEI Rules for <strong>Jumping</strong> Aug. 2001). If riders are eligible for Young<br />

Rider as well they can compete in both but on different horses.<br />

Young Rider: Competitors may take part in competitions for “Young Riders” from the beginning<br />

of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 16 years until the end of the calendar year in<br />

which they reach the age of 21 years. (EFA Addendum to FEI Rules for <strong>Jumping</strong> August 2001) If<br />

riders are eligible for Junior’s as well they can compete in both but on different horses.<br />

Novice Junior: For riders in the year of their 18th Birthday and under. A rider may compete in<br />

the Junior and Novice Junior but on different horses and also if their age overlaps Novice Junior<br />

and Novice Young Rider but on different horses. The horse can only compete in one division<br />

each day but may compete in Ring 3 classes also. Age of rider the same as Junior. Maximum<br />

height in the first round of this division will be 80cm.<br />

Novice Young Rider: For riders 16 years to 21 years. A rider may compete in the Young Rider<br />

and Novice Young Rider but on different horses and if the age overlaps Novice Junior and Novice<br />

Young Rider but on different horses. The horse can only compete in one division each day but<br />

may compete in Ring 3 Classes. Maximum height first round will be 1m.<br />

Child Jumper: Riders are eligible to compete in this category until the end of the calendar year<br />

in which they turn 14.<br />

Pony Jumper is a horse 14.2hh and under and must be ridden by a rider under 17 yrs on the<br />

day of competition. The judge has the right to request any pony to be measured if he/she feels<br />

there is a height discrepancy. A measuring steward will be in attendance.<br />

Open Jumper is any rider under the age of 21 years at the end of the calendar year. The rider<br />

can compete in any section on other horses but the horse can only compete in one division each<br />

day.<br />

MAXIMUM HEIGHTS listed are for the first round of the competition.<br />

Each horse can only compete in a maximum of 3 classes/day<br />

ENTRIES will go online 29th August<br />

ENTRIES CLOSE: Sunday 18th September, 2011.<br />

PAYMENT is via credit card. You will need to contact the organisers if this is not possible to<br />

arrange other means of payment. When doing entries you will have 20 minutes to pay,<br />

Immediate payment system.<br />

LATE ENTRIES: Riders whose entries are already accepted will be allowed to put in entries on<br />

the day for horses already entered but they will incur a $5.00 late charge per class plus the<br />

entry fee. This will be strictly adhered to. No accounts will be run payment must be made when<br />

entering.<br />

CHANGE OF ENTRY: The fee of $5.00 will apply for change of entry from one class to another<br />

once entries have closed Ie. Out of one class and into another. Draws will be completed at the<br />

beginning of the week prior to the show.<br />

REFUNDS: A full refund will be given if an email of the scratching is received before close of<br />

entries. Email to espjane@bigpond.com After close of entries a 50% refund of entries plus<br />

horse levy on receipt via email with a doctors or veterinary certificate. Refund applications must<br />

be made within 14 days after the show. 100% refund will be given if the show is cancelled.<br />

INDEMNITY FORMS: Are part of the entry to the show. They must be read carefully and ticked<br />

off by Rider under the age of 18 must have their forms signed by a parent or an authorised Legal<br />

Guardian. Riders will not be allowed to compete until the indemnity form is completed.<br />

DOGS must be tied up or on a leash at all times. No dogs are allowed in the jumping or practice<br />

arenas at any time.<br />

COATS IN PRESENTATIONS. Riders will be required to wear a coat in presentations. Summer<br />

Uniform will be acceptable if weather exceeds a certain temperature, an announcement will be<br />

made. If riding without a coat, a proper long sleeved riding shirt with tie or ratcatcher will be<br />

permissible. If wearing a back protector you have the option of wearing a riding coat or not.<br />

This event will be run under FEI/EA regulations.<br />

<strong>Australia</strong>n & European Helmet Standards will apply in all rings and riders must wear these<br />

helmets at all times when mounted on a horse, this includes presentations and non competition<br />

days. Correct riding boots must be worn at all times that riders are mounted on a horse.<br />

Anyone riding a horse on the grounds at any time must comply to these stipulations.<br />

The Organising Committee reserves the right, at their absolute discretion, to alter or<br />

amend any of the conditions, regulations or any aspect of the event they see fit.<br />

PRACTICE ARENAS: Only Riders competing in the current competition may use the final<br />

practice area. Only six horses (or less if the marshall or judge decide due to safety) will be<br />

allowed in the practice area at any one time. Other warm up areas will be provided.<br />

VEHICLES: (Bi Centennial Park is a public area and there will be no under age drivers, no driving<br />

under the influence of alcohol and no riding on the outside of vehicles.). All road rules will apply.<br />

CROSS COUNTRY FENCES; (Off Limits) Camden’s Bi Centennial <strong>Equestrian</strong> Park has a course<br />

of cross country fences. The cross country jumps and water complex’s are off limits at all times.<br />

Anyone jumping any of these obstacles will be ELIMINATED from the whole show.<br />
