Porsche Meeting
Racetrack Leipzig
Similar to last year we would like to organise a friendly event at the Porsche
plant, customer centre and test track in Leipzig, Germany. We will be visiting the
production line, drive our own cars on the Porsche test track for a whole day and
have dinner at the historic restaurant Auerbachs Keller.
Suggested arrival is Friday, 12th of May (can be late). On Saturday, 13th of May
we‘ll visit a plant (Porsche Cayenne/Carrera GT or the new BMW plant) and maybe
drive a tour through the Leipzig countryside with our cars, followed by Dinner
at Auerbachs. On Sunday, 14th of May we have the test track and the customer
centre for ourselves for the whole day including two Porsche instructors. In the
morning we will learn the different sections of the track (in our own cars), in the
afternoon we will have free practice and maybe a regularity event. There will be
no real racing, but fast driving on proper race track. The track is very safe and
well suited for the older cars. >>
For participation, we need your deposit of £280, which includes track hire and catering on the Sunday. In addition there will
be the cost for Hotel, dinner and travel depending on how long you stay and how you travel. Leipzig is situated about 100
miles south-west of Berlin or south-east of Hanover. Leipzig airport is right next to the Porsche track and there is another
airport close by called Altenburg where Ryanair flies to from Stanstead. We used the Hotel Breitenfelder Hof, Tel +49 341
4651-0, Lindenallee 8, 04158 Leipzig, at a cost of about 90 Euro pp per night.
Richard Clark from Cars-UK participated last year and has already promised us to provide transport from the UK (the more
cars the better) on a cost only basis: Last year, we had a mixture of historic Porsches with a few guests (a 996 GT3, a Ferrari
275 and a Corvette – we needed the money...). We had many 356, 356 Carreras, 911S & RS and three Spyders. I addition
we will have at least one 904 this year. The pics you see are were taken last year. All participants have shown interest to
come back. Maximum 40 cars. You may want read an article about our event last year on the official Porsche website under
