The African Past, Identity and Human Civilisation
Introduction
It is common knowledge that a people without a history are a people without
identity, culture and traditions. The suppression of the African past, identity
and language not only dehumanized and depersonalized African people but a
considerable section of the human family because Africa is the cradle of
humanity and the beginning of the human story.
The accounts of human origins and history contained in Holy Scriptures and
theories of evolution do not do justice to African origins, history and identity.
Thus African cultures and traditions have been (and still are) misunderstood
from the advent of Europeans and Asiatic in Africa around 1750 B. C. A brief
outline of African history and philosophy of origins will assist the reader to
understand why this century is called the African century and why the
founders of our democracy have always believed in the unity of being and the
human family and regarded modern civilisation as a common heritage of the
human family.
The African Past and Identity
Long before the dawn of Biblical history and evolutionary theories of Darwin
and others indigenous African people in Punt or Tantura (i.e. the area of the
Great Lakes) recorded that the gods (Neteru) of the First Time (Zep Tepi) who
are their ancestors originated at the source of the Nile River called the Table
of the moon (Tamera or Kumara) children of the moon (Mara). Thus the
cradleland of humanity in the Area of the Great Lakes (Punt or Tantura) also
came to be known as Afura (the root of the name Africa) or Ukara, Ulanga or
Uranga. The name Ukara and its variations mean the land of the sun.
The descendants of the gods (Neteru) of the First Time (Zep Tepi) therefore
came to be known as the people of the sun. The idea is contained in the
name Afuraka (Greek Africa) and Bakara (nga). However, the scribe of the
gods khem or Thau THau-Harama (Greek Thoth-Hermes) recoded in his book
of the Divine Light (Pert em Heru), popularly known as the Egyptian Book of
the Dead, that the African, European and Asiatic human families originated at
the source of the Nile (Tamera) in the Area of the Great Lakes (Punt or
Tantura). The name Tantura (Greek Taneter i.e. land of the gods) is a variant
of Atalantu (Greek Atlantis or Etelentys) modern writers, influenced by Plato,
wrongly located Atlantis in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Human Diaspora
The African sage and prophet, Khem or Thoth-Hermes foresaw the over
flooding of the Nile River and evacuated Europeans to Europe, Asiatic to Asia
and Africans to Khem or Ta Shema (i.e. north east Africa) where the gods of
the First Time settled among them. These gods taught Africans the arts,

sciences and philosophy which were used to build pyramids, temples,
lighthouses and obelisks. Hence, there is no doubt that human civilisation
originated in north east Africa. The authors of this civilisation were named
Khemites or Hamites after the African sage Khem or Ham, son of the creator
god (Ptah), popularly known as the master Architect of the universe. The two
ancient African empires of Ethiopia (Atpu) and Egypt (Hakaptah) were named
after Ptah.
The Celestial Origins of Humanity and Time
Ancient Africans taught that the First Cause that we call god is unknown and
unknowable and that the material world was created by the word or sound
(Khem or Ham) of the First Cause also known as Shambe or Zambe. This
word manifested itself as the spiritual mother (Mara or Mari) and child (Kara)
also known as Hathara. This spiritual child manifested itself as the spiritual
father, mother and child in one. This trinity is symbolised by the three stars of
the Orion belt while the Great mother (Hathara) is symbolised by the Milky
Way or centre of the galaxy.
The stars Sirius A (Saba) and B (Hara) symbolise the cosmic mother and the
child respectively. The spiritual sun (Hara or Kara) is the solar (Ra) principle
from which the universe, time and humanity emanated.
The Structure of the Universe
The solar (Ra) principle projected itself to the north and south and to the four
cardinal points of the universe and manifested itself as the solar emblem
which represent the solar (p or Ra) principle and its four (X) children of Light
called the Kheru (Hebrew Cherubim and Islamic Alkaribuyan). These four
beasts (the cherubim or Alkaribuyan) before the throne of god (P or Ra) are
common to all major religions, including Hinduism and Christianity. It can
therefore be concluded that the three human families, Africans, Europeans
and Asiatics are not only children of the sun but also believed in the god of
Light and its four children of Light symbolised by the solar emblem.
The god of Light and its four children generated the life-force called the Akhet
(IHls), IAO or JAH (i.e. the Alpha and Omega) which is symbolized by the
horizontal line in the solar monogram. The combination of the two signs is
represented by the solar wheel:

This solar wheel is called Ra Harakhte (Xpakhte) or IAO (or JAH) Abakara.
The god of the early Africans Christians of Alexandria, Egypt, was also called
Xpakhte (Greek Xpoctos), later known as Xpichtys or chrichtys (now
chrestos).

The Christ (Xpakhte) idea originally referred to the spiritual god of the African
mysteries, not a human being. It, in fact, referred to a wheel of Light which
generated the structure of the universe consisting of:
• The solar (P or Ra) principle
• The four Rudders of Heaven or Cardinal points
• The seven Pleiades or Circumpolar stars (menrah) which
correspond to the seven outer planets (kabiri)
• The twenty-four divisions of heaven which correspond to the twelve
hours of the day and the twelve hours of the night
These structures of the universe were originally contained in the Ethiopian
Book of the mysteries of Isis and Osiris which was reworked by the Essenes
or Nazarenes, forbearers of Joshua (Greek Jesus) and renamed the Book of
Enoch. This book was later reworked by Emperor Justinian and renamed the
Book of Revelation of the New Testament.
The Judeo-Christian and Islamic religions share this structure of the universe
with African religion and Hinduism. It can be said therefore that there exist a
fundamental cosmic unity of all major religions in South Africa.
The Celestial Origins of Time and Seasons of the Year
The twelve divisions of heaven that we all call the zodiac are each divided into
30 degrees or groups of stars which are used for the computation of time. For
the purpose of this article we shall deal with the Great year and the Lunar
year.
The Great Year
The sun takes 25,920 years to complete one revolution through the 12 signs
of the zodiac. This period is calculated as follows. It takes the sun 72 years
to traverse 1 of the 30 degrees which make out one sign of the zodiac. Thus,
it takes the sun 2160 (30 x 72) years to traverse one sign of the zodiac and
25,920 (2160 x12) to traverse 12 signs of the zodiac. This period is called the
great year.
It is wrong for us to talk in terms of Before Christ (B.C) and Anno Domino or
After Christ (A.D). The computation of the time has nothing to do with the
birth of Jesus the Nazarene.
The computation of time starts with the entry of the sun in the zodiacal sign of
Aries and its 2160 years sojourn in this sign. This period is called the Aryan
Age (now BC) which was followed by the Piscean Age when the sun dwelt in
the zodiacal sign Pisces for 2160 years. This period is called A.D. The Aryan
and Piscean Ages were symbolised by the solar and Piscean emblems which
combine to form the divine name Xpichtys or chrischtys which refers to two
consecutive solar Ages, not the period before and after the birth of Jesus.
We have now entered the Kanubian or Aquarian Age which is dominated by
the female principle (Kanuba) one of the four Holy Beasts before the throne of

god. These beasts are messengers of the god of Light (P or Ra). This means
for the next 2160 years the universe will be dominated by the female or
matriarchal principle which will usher the reign of peace and development.
The 2160 years of strife and wars which were dominated by the male or
patriarchal principle are coming to a close.
The Lunar Year
The zodiac is divided into 12 signs. Each sign has three groups of ten stars
called the decan. Thus each sign consists of 30 decan. Each deacan
represents a ten-day week. The moon takes 30 days to traverse one sign of
the zodiac and 360 (30 x 12) days to traverse all 12 signs of the zodiac. On
the remaining five successive days the Union (Mara) of the moon (ma) and
the sun (Ra) reproduces the five elements (ether, water, fire, earth and air)
which make out the totality of being. These five elements are conceived as
five gods born of Mara (the Queen of Heaven and earth) on the last five days
of the year known as the Jubilee or Christmas.
These five gods (Osiris, Horus-ur, set, Isis, and Nephtys) are the Ancestors of
humanity also known as the priory of Sion (i.e. the First born children of the
city of the sun). The mystery of these gods is embodied in the Cube (Ka’aba)
or Ancient Pillar (Zindj-ka-Fura i.e. the root or trunk of the sacred fire) which
are the material manifestation of the solar principle known as the Bemben (or
philosopher’s) stone, popularly known as the Ark of the Covenant.
The Ladder of Heaven
The god of Light (P or Ra) and its four children (cherubim or Alkaribuyan) are
inextricably linked to humanity through the seven Pleiades or circumpolar
stars and seven outer planets which make out the fourteen rungs of the ladder
of Heaven or chain of Being which were also used to compute Lunar months.
The god of light and its four children symbolised by the solar emblem
represents the godhead which was symbolically cut into fourteen pieces which
correspond to the fourteen days of the waxing moon. These 14 days also
represent 7 primary messengers (archangels) and 7 secondary messengers
(angels) who are intermediaries between the god of Light and humanity.
During the 14 days of the waxing moon the 14 messenger gods descend into
the sub-lunary world to bring solar energies to nourish the world. Thereafter
they ascend to the heavens during the 14 days of the waning moon and
complete their revolution in 28 Lunar days. During the two dark days of the
moon the moon (ma/maia) and the sun (Ra) unite to reproduce the fourteen
gods again. Thus the Union (Mara/Maria) of these two celestial bodies is
venerated as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.
The two dark days of the moon are added to the 28 days to produce Lunar
month of 30 days. Thus the Lunar days and months link humanity, the god of
Light and its four children directly. Hence, ancient Africans regarded every
honour or day as a gift of the gods. The hierarchy of all religions consists of:

• The god of Light (P or Ra) and its four children (the
cherubim or Al karibuyan)
• The fourteen Angels (i.e. messenger gods)
• The Ancestors (or saints).
The Ancestors (or saints) and the fourteen angels are intermediaries between
god and humanity.
African Spirituality and Seasons of the Year
Religious festivals are celebrations of the three seasons of the Lunar year, the
two equinoxes and two solstices which correspond to the four cardinal points
and four children of the god of Light. The three seasons of the year are
shema, Akhet, and Faro.
The Shema Season (May to August)
May 1 is the appearance of the cosmic mother (ma or Maia) of the word
(khem or shema) of the First Cause which is born on May 25 when the star
Kanuba (Greek caopus) rises before dawn. In June (21-25) the sacred fire
issues from the Holy word (khem/shema) and generates the waters of origin
which inundates the celestial River symbolised by the Milky Way. In July the
star Sirius (Saba) rises before dawn, signalling the birth of the Light child
(Hahu or Ihy) which gave birth to the ten gods (neteru) of the first Time (Zep
Tepi) during August. The birth of these gods was celebrated by candle Lights
during August.
The Akhet Season (September to December)
September, the first month of the Akhet season, is called the heritage month.
The 23/24 September is also the African New year. This month is called the
Prince of Light because the Bull (i.e. god of Light) and seven cows
(symbolised by seven Pleiades stars) appear in the heavens to announce the
New Year and beginning of summer or ploughing time.
In November nature is reborn and the plant, animal and mineral kingdoms
flourish to pave the way for the birth of the five human ancestors during the
Jubilee (21-25 December) period. These gods or ancestors are regarded as
the first rebuts born of the union (mara/maria0 of the moon and the sun. Thus
during December and January African people held first fronts celebrations
The faro Season (January to April)
During the Faro period the produce of the earth ripens and are harvested and
enjoyed. Thus the Faro period is the harvest period. This harvest is
symbolised by the entry of the sun (Faro or Kara) into the Aryan sign of the
Zodiac. When the sun is in this sign it is called the Lamb of God that is
sacrificed to feed humanity. Hence, the original Easter was nothing more or
less than the harvest celebrations.

Conclusions
The 21 st century that we call the African century is more specifically a
matriarchal century. The peaceful female energies within the universe will
become dominant and major changes will take place during these century.
The greatest change will be the decline of religiosity and rise of spirituality.
Future generations will realise that many religious and racial wars were (and
still are) caused by ignorance of humanity about the unity of being the spiritual
origins of all human beings regardless of colour and race and the common
cosmic origins of all belief systems and, in particular, the fact that al forms of
worship relates to celestial bodies and the spiritual sun or solar principle. This
solar theology and religion was known as karaism or sabaism and its prophet
was called lord Khem or Ham, popularly known as ThauThau-Harama (Greek
Thoth-Hermes) and his literature is known as the corpus Hemeticum.
These Hermitic literatures have been rediscovered and is being circulated the
world-over to provide true enlightenment of the African century. These
literatures will expand human consciousness by decolonising and developing
the human mind and, in particular, liberate it from the prisons of dogma
dominating the world today.
